button or input right click

I am two days into trying to add some javascript to a webpage, so I know
very little about it or any other programing language, so please bear with
me. I have managed to get onMouseover and onMouseout event programed to
show a popup tip when the user moves the mouse over one of the input fields
or buttons, but this can get annoying on some of the forms. What I think
would be a better solution is to write code that would allow the user to
right click the input or button and have the popup tip display while the
right mouse button is held. I have tried a few ways to get this to work and
have the popup appearing when the right button is clicked, but the context
menu also appears for the item. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Thomas

To the event handler you have on the element, add -> return false, which I
gather you mean is oncontextmenu.

I dynamically create buttons and associate them with an event using AddHandler. I want all the button events to fire at one time, when the page is posted, instead of when each button is clicked. How I stop the buttons from posting back when they are clicked? Thanks

WINDOWS FORMS I've a form that has a textbox that allows the user to enter a string. On the LostFocus event, the textbox formats the string into a preferred format. However, if the user presses the "Save" button while the textbox has the focus, the LostFocus code doesn't run at the right time, so that the "Save" function is dealing with an incorrectly formatted string and the whole caboodle goes splat.

I'm getting incorrect response when hitting the enter key instead of actually clicking the button on a form. It activates but the post data isn't being sent I think. The php generated page flickers & reloads but doesn't perform the update. This is php generated, I'm just pasting the page source (reformatted & extra junk removed and I think they are now identical), and it's running on my localhost apache server for testing so maybe...

Hello all, I'm new to all this and I could really use some help. I've searched the web but cannot find an answer. I have an HTML form with 3 radio buttons and a search field that calls a MySQL database using JavaScript to find a product either by Product ID, Description, or Both. Originally, the 'Both' radio button was "checked" but I now want the 'Product ID' button set as the default choice (as you can see from the code below). ...

I am continuing to develop an Access 2007 application which was originally converted from Access 2003. In Access 2003 I was able to disable the Access Close button in the top righthand corner of the screen. I have been unable to find any way to disable this button in Access 2007 and subsequently I have been forced to find ways to detect and handle the situations after the Access Close button has been clicked. I have been largely...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers.
