Dynamically updating html page

Hi,

What would be the best way to update the images(ie.conta ining the block
diagram of the various devices in the network) in a HTML page ?
Actually the webserver is running on a Win PC, and the html page is
running a timer using javascript and periodically refreshes the screen.
Since the javascript has to get the response from all the devices and
updates the images ie., changing the color for eg., show red if the
device is faulty, there is a huge delay incurred, and the browser seem
to hang(ie no other operation could be performed on the browser) while
this operation is performed.
Is it possible to do this, without the browser hang.

Can u point to some links..i am a newbie to this web programming
Thanks

I have a set of web pages that are organized in pairs. One of each pair contains a graphic and the other is an extended description of the graphic. I am trying to set it up that selecting a single hyperlink causes the correct pair of web pages to be loaded into two windows. My current approach is to specify an onload action in the <BODY> tag of one of the pages that requests that the corresponding description page be loaded into the...

Hello, I create a Table1 dynamically at run time, and at the same time, I would like to create LinkButton controls, also dynamically, and insert them into each line in my Table1. I would then like that, when clicking the LinkButton, the user can be navigated to another page, carrying a variable. I would like to use server.transfer method instead of QueryString as I don't want the carried variable to be visible for the user.

Hi All, We have a small dilemma. We have the following page: http://giggsey.com/m00Cow.php (don't ask about the content) that we want to turn into an interactive application for some new intake students at our school. However - we want to have multiple client PCs running a web interface that will allow them to type in their name / a message, and then this message appears on the "scroller" page, which will be on a projector.

How to search multiple fields using ASP A major issue for me when I first started writing in VB Script was constructing the ability to search a table using multiple field input from a form and having the sql statement dynamically built according to the input provided by the user. I have used the method described here hundreds of times it is quick and adaptive. I generally use a frames page for the search, in this way the search is maintained...

I'm guessing this is a laughably obvious answer to many here, but it's not to me (and I don't have a server or any knowledge of PHP to be able to try it). It's not strictly a PHP question, but something that PHP guys would know the answer to. I can't think of a more appropriate forum to try. I've heard the ASP and JSP guys aren't as friendly ;-) Let's say we have a HTML page from domain example.com, and that HTML page makes a request to...

I am trying to get to grips with the asp.net ajaxcontrol toolkit, and am trying to add a tabbed control to the page. I have no problems within the aspx file, and can dynamically manipulate a tabcontainer which has 1 panel already, however I want to try create the TabPanels dynamically. I followed the advice here: http://www.asp.net/learn/ajax-videos/video-156.aspx (3rd comment - Joe Stagner)

Hi all I am using WScript.Shell in order to execute a batch file that runs a few commands with a large output that is redirected to a local text file. When execution is finished, I read the text file and update a scrolling DIV on my html page with the output from the batch file. Something like this: Cmd="%comspec% /c script.bat > c:\output.txt" Exec=WshShell.Run(Cmd,0, true); fso = new ActiveXObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject"); ts...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
