Creating a new browser window and session

How do you go about creating a new window in javascript that also
creates a new browser session. My problem stems from the conflict that
arise when launching one java applet from another when each requires a
different version of Java, and unfortunately, its the 1.3 version that
launches the 1.5 version.

>> When I open a second browser window from the first, it uses the same session with first!!! > This is not true. session_id is unique for each combination of browser/url. I believe this too, but you can see: 1. try http://tassadar.physics.auth.gr/~chameleon/Books/ 2. right-click in one menu link and "open in new window". 3. in 2nd browser window click greek flag 4. in 1st browser window click "Programming" everything in 1st browser...

Question for the group The authentication system for the site Im working on seems to function properly and all is good. A session keeps track of everything and a cookie is used to accept or deny access... sounds as it should be I hope. Then when all is done logging out destroys everything and the pages are no longer accessable. Good so far. But two things come to mind: one is preventing multiple logins of the user/password. The...

It seems that Ctrl-N in Mozilla opens a new empty browser window. That's fine, I don't need to do anything about it. But Ctrl-N in IE appears to clone the current window. Is there a way to intercept the key so that I can do stuff on the server side to make the new window behave correctly? (We have a JSP-based webapp which stores state in the session. Now if two windows access (and modify!) the same session, then madness will result....

Hi all I am very new to ASP.Net. I am trying to create a sniffer for our program. We want our users to click our sniffer and hopefully the sniffer will check their computer against our requirements. I would like to ask experts like you to see which items are actually doable with ASP.Net. Below I listed all of the items we are looking for but I can understand if some of the items are impossible to check/sniff. We would like to create a sniffer...

Ok..this a rather odd question/problem. I haven't really found a straight forward answer to how to handle this scenario, so I hope someone here can help. Here it is: I have an application that allows users to log in. Each user can have multiple roles within the application. Each role allows the user to access different sections of the app and allows/denies them certain functionality.

There are a few things that I store in the session cache hashtable for our application. The user gets a session when they log into the application. They can open more than one browser window using the same session by doing things like: If they right click on a link and select "Open in new window" from the context menu. If they hit CTRL-N to open a new browser.

I have searched high and low, and I can't find anybody having this problem, so I'm sure it's something really simple I'm overlooking. In fact, I've seen many posts of people trying to set up the exact problem I'm having. My ASP.NET (2.0) SessionID is being reset every time I start a new browser. I have tested this with a totally clean page, and totally clean Web.config file, so that I know I'm using all of the default settings (mode =...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
