Hi,
I am working on an Applet which provides some mouse practice for
new computer users in our local seniors' computer club. The applet
contains several cards, in a card layout, which are displayed to
the user one after the other as needed to present some particular
mouse operation. This all works fine. One card (card 4 below)
includes a textarea and a button. What I wish to do is have the user
use the mouse to select some text from the...

Thank You,

Does anyone know how to detect if a user has pasted code using the
right mouse button into a textarea?
I have fields in a form that autoupdate when text is changed in a
textarea, but if it is pasted using the mouse (not CTRL-V) the trigger
doesn't happen.
I tried onChange first, no luck. Detecting keystrokes and LEFT
mouseclicks was easy enough, and it works for those. But SOME users
paste stuff in without ever typing or...

Is there a way to detect if an textarea onscroll event is working in
Firefox (or Mozilla). I know that there is an onscroll event bubbling
bug with current vesions of these browsers so I want to detect this
problem with a test like "if (textarea.onscroll == 'undefined' ||
!textarea.onscroll) {}." Any help would be appreciated.

If you've used the Google Gmail spell checker you know that it
'changes' the text area to another type of control that lets them show
hyperlinks for the incorrect words. How does Google change the
textarea? And what do they change it to? I know it should be pretty
simple, I just have no clue because I'm fairly new to DHTML. Any
examples would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Cliff.

I am trying to write a script that changes a textarea wrap realtime,
basically like you can switch to and from "wordwrap" in Microsofts
Notepad. Because of a bug
(https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=302710), FireFox does not
listen to the textarea.wrap = 'soft' command. Because I want the script
to be cross-browser compatible, someone suggested to remove and
immediately add a node to the DOM, so I now have:

I have a TEXTAREA element. A user right clicks within in to get the
context menu and they select "paste". I want my javascript code to
know that they selected "paste".
I know you can capture the mouse click, but can we capture exactly what
event that attempted?
Thanks,
Mike

Hi...
I've seen code which changes a paragraph into a textarea (to allow it
to be edited)...by creating a brand new text area, inserting that into
the dom at the right place, and deleting the paragraph from the dom.
I.e. http://www.quirksmode.org/dom/cms.html
What I'm wondering is: is there some way to simplify this? Can I
just tell the paragraph to become a textarea?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
