firefox 1.0 - how to override popup blocker selectively, how to enable work for only certain popups within same domain

I have firefox 1.0, running on winxp

Firefox blocks popups fine, but sometimes, for selected occassions
only, i would like to be able to have window popup; without enabling
whole domains, as other popups from same domain are not desired.

How can I selectively override the firefox popup blocker, without
opening up pop up from many ads from same domain.

Tx

Tom

I believe that is done by how the popup takes place.
I have been in numerous sites where various site generated popups are shown,
but no spam type ones get through.
For instance, www.gifworks.com
Edit a gif and the necessary popup windows are allowed, whereas in IE they
are not.
I'm not sure if you have to allow cookies for that or not, but I haven't had
an issue with them.

Although there is an occasional one that comes through.
So I would imagein firefox has something to check the script to determine
what the source is.
You might want to pose this question on the firefox forum.

hi, i have some forms which use javascript for data validation, e.g., checking to make sure all required fields are completed, checking that data falls within valid ranges for certain fields, etc. if an error occurs, i'm sending the user a message via the alert window. the form is then not submitted until the errors are corrected. however, i've discovered that some users using the aol browser are

Greetings - I have a number of websites that make use of popups spawned by a user clicking a link. Nothing fancy - here is typical code: <a href="popup.html" target="pop_win" onClick="msgWindow=window.open('','pop_win', 'resizable=no,width=600,height=300')"> click here</a>

Hi, We have a database application that runs in a popup Internet Explorer application window. The reason for this is to isolate the casual user from the address bar and the typical IE navigation buttons. The application has a browser test page that displays an error message when a popup blocker is found and opens a popup page stating the test was successfull if there is no popup blocker.

I want to popup a window from my codebehind. The reason is that during the postback the code needs to do some validations and to build the arguments that are passed in the url. How can I achieve this functionality? The reason I do not want to use Response.Redirect is because when the user comes back to the first page, all the selections that were made(which are the arguments) disappear.

Hello, I'm trying to get a popup to keep focus when it is re-clicked. The script below is supposed to produce this exact behaviour, however it doesn't work, at least on firefox 1.0.7 and moz 1.7.12 (linux kubuntu). It does work with konqueror. It seems to work with firefox on windows but not with IE (not completly sure though).

Hi, I've looked for a solution to this problem on google, read posts in this newsgroup and I still haven't found anything that could help me. Here's the scenario. 1. User accesses pageA.html 2. User clicks on menu link to open popup.html 3. pageA.html checks if popup.html is already open. It is not, open

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
