A Good JavaScript Reference Guide

I often use the HTML reference guide at Microsoft which is located
here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/de...e/elements.asp

It gives a descriptions and examples of HTML elements. Can anyone
point me at any similar resources for Javascript?

TIA,

Colin

The MSDN Library doesn't have a HTML reference. It has a HTML in IE
reference, which is certain places something *very* different. I would
argue that the official specification (<URL:http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/>)
is better, and very readable.

I hope the Draft FAQ contains a link which will reach the Next Draft

I have still yet to see a JavaScript Editor that comes close to reading a good JS book, learing it and using it with a text editor. Anyway, here my recipe for build successfull DHTML Applications: If you want to support only M$ IE stop here and do the following: 1) Install blindfold 2) Repeat the phrase - I love my cage :p Buy the Book: Buy O'Reilly's JavaScript The Definitive Guide

I am not a programmer by any means, but a dedicated aficionado. I have good understanding of Java and C/C++, and now I would like to learn javascript->ajax, but I don't know where to start. My HTML knowledge is basic, however, with a little bit of an effort I can program a small page. Can anyone recommend a good beginner's book on JavaScript? Please, bear in mind that it is my intention to learn to program server and client side, thus the...

Does any know what book/website would be good for me, an middle- beginner, if what I'm looking for is a hands-on, example-loaded reference book/website? More specifically, what I am looking for is for something that will show me how to do things and not just tell me what things can be done with JavaScript. Thanks folks!

I am looking for a reference that lists the equivelant JavaScript/JScript properties (for example, it took me a while to find that event.x/event.y were the IE equivelant of event.layerX/event.layerY). If anybody knows a good site that lists the corresponding properties between the different JavaScript implementations for different browsers, I would like to know. Thanks. -- Nathan Sokalski njsokalski@hotmail.com...

Hello all, I had a look through the FAQ and searched this forum before posting. The closest I came to an answer was this post by Dr J R Stockton from 2006. But as he/she said, the answer depends on one's experience and the application. The post is also a couple of years old so new books might have come out or Javascript developed beyond the scope of the reference materials of that time. So, are there any recommended books for a complete...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
