Refresh of what?

Your test code, while complete (although you do not return false to
prevent the link being followed), is not sufficent to describe what it
is you wish to do. More details may evoke useful suggestions.

I am doing a simple php header refresh -- header('refresh: 10; url=msgs.php'); that just does a call back to my script every 10 seconds. Things work great when the page is first loaded up, but if the end user hits F5 or the refresh button, then the page stops refreshing indefinately. Any ideas how to make it so that the page perpetually refreshes regardless of what the end user presses?

After much effort, it doesn't seem possible to redirect the user to a new page after 10 seconds by using a server-side timer. I am now using the following meta statement to accomplish the same thing: <META HTTP-EQUIV="refresh" content="10;URL=Form_Welcome.aspx"> This seems to work fine, but I now have three concerns because I thought it was supposed to be possible to do everything in C#. 1. Note that Visual Studio lets the developer...

I am writing a content management system where users can remove and edit data. I have a datagrid with a 'remove' button on each row. If a user clicks this (or 'add new', or 'edit') it works fine. However, if they then press refresh on their browser, .NET attempts to repeat the last action, which really messes things up. Is there a way to signal NET that, for example, an OnClick event shouldn't occur again upon refresh? Thanks.

I'm retouching our corporate web site that, among other things, allows customers to log in and pay their invoices online. I noticed that on the checkout page, the credit card number textbox autofills with past entries for that textbox. My development workstation has the Google Toolbar installed; I'm not sure whether the autofill functionality is native to the browser or coming from the Google Toolbar. In either case, is there any way...

I know 'disable-output-escaping' has been discussed in the past, but I can't put my finger on any of the threads to see if my current problem is addressed. Sorry for re-asking the question if it has already been answered... I have an XML doc that I am transforming via XSLT and JavaScript in the browser. This allows me to return unsorted data to the browser and allow the user to sort it with a mouseclick and not hit the server just...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
