You can't launch a client-side executable using JavaScript running in a
Web browser in the default security environment.

Yes, but only if your page had the security permissions to allow it.
ActiveX (MSIE) could open an application. Again, though, security
restrictions apply outside an HTA context. If you want this level of control,
an HTA is your best bet. MSIE/Windows only, IIRC.
This should not even be attempted in a normal internet environment.

Are you going to install it on my computer before you attempt to open
it? I have no Outlook installed so obviously you can't open it unless
you install it first. But the answer to your question is no.

I'm using the following code to launch SIGNCODE.EXE to sign a CAB
provisioning file from an ASP.NET app. When I run the code the
exit code comes back as -1. I have not been able to determine what
this exit code means (other than Error, as the CAB file does not

When I do start>run and type "outlook", outlook launches successfully, even
though the path to outlook isn't set. If I try to type in outlook in command
prompt, outlook doesn't launch.
Any ideas where start>run gets the path to outlook from? This also seem to
work if I do a 'System.Diagnostics.Process.Start("outlook.exe")' under
vb.net

After my installation has completed running I'd like to launch the EXE that I

installed. I've found how to launch the EXE in the Custom Actions area of

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
