Seeking banner rotation script that does so according to country

I can't find any javascript that displays a banner according to a
user's country. Is this not possible?

If not javascript then maybe php or ssi displayed into a page via an
iframe. Does anyone know of a free script that shows a banner
according to country?

Jason,
Javascript can detect the user's local machine time, but several countries
could be in the same time zone.

You asked about options using php, and I found this FREE script for you:
http://www.phptutorial.info/iptocountry/the_script.html

This will detect the user's country; then, you can grab a generic javascript
banner script to display a certain banner based upon the variable returned by
the above php script.

Hope this helps,

Jim

No, there is no reliable way to determine the country where the visitor
is located. You could make a guess using an extensive list of ISPs,
their IP address ranges and supposed areas, but with the exception of
the Gecko DOM I don't know of any UA where reading the IP address is
possible with client-side scripting. Whether this is possible with
server-side J(ava)Scripting would depend on the server API; which Web
server are you developing for?

PHP and SSI is beyond the scope of this newsgroup; if you have no
server-side J(ava)Script available (JScript with ASP, e.g.), I
suggest you post to an appropriate newsgroup or find a Web forum.

I have some third party sponsor banners on my website and since installing the entire page pauses loading then displays the whole page. It seems that the page is waiting on the banners. Is there a way to set IIS or coding to load the page and then load the banners if they take longer to load?

I've been using a javascript in an html file for a banner slider, and it works as desired. But I'd like to use it on more than one page and it would be great if I could transfer the code to a .js file and call it with the <script src="filename.js"></script> tags as I do for many other .js files. But, when I try to do that way, it doesn't work right. It will display the banner text, but only on the 0,0 page coordinate and doesn't slide....

I want to create a simple log rotation for the following scenario: I have a script that when executed will write debug and error messages to a specific file (say script.log). I want to create log rotation such a way that if the file size of script.log exceeds say 500KB, I want to rename script.log as script<day>1.log and the latest logs to be written to script.log. Essentially script.log should have the recent 500KB of logs.

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
