Korean chars on javascript alerts

Hi,

I have a problem displaying korean characters in javascript alerts.
Korean characters are displayed fine in menus, webpages, buttons, etc.
except in javascript alerts. Can anyone please help me?

By the way, this problem occurs in IE5 only. I have tested in IE6,
Mozilla1.4 and Netscape 6 and this issue does not occur.

Thanks!

I think the reason lies in IE5. IE5 have many differences with IE6,
esp. in JavaScript. I'm not sure how JavaScript deals with Korean
because JavaScript was meant for more-English-based languages
(JavaScript uses ASCII). Even if Korean was written in ASCII, it would
be mostly in high ASCII (or extented ASCII code). My advice would to
avoid using Korean characers in alerts for IE5, because not only the
characters will not display, it may crash Windows 95, 98 and ME.
Please visit http://www.asciitable.com/ for all of the ASCII
characters.

I posted this on the asp.net group, also. I wasn't sure whether this was an asp.net problem or a javascript problem. I have a page that was originally created from a program I found on the net that works well as an html page. It brings up a modal popup window that I have been trying to work out for days now and this was the closest I have been able to come. I added a little asp.net code and an asp.net button and cannot get it to

We moved some pages of Japanese, Korean and Chinese from one server to another. In doing so, the users with Windows XP could still see the Asian fonts. However, a user with Windows 2000 could no longer see the Asian fonts, but he could when the pages were on the other server. Can anyone think of why a Windows 2000 user could once see Asian fonts but cannot now? These are the meta tags I used on those pages: <meta...

VARIABLE SCOPE IN JAVASCRIPT LEVEL: BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE (INTERMEDIATE STUFF IN ) PREREQS: VARIABLES First off, what the heck is 'scope' (the kind that doesn't help kill the germs that cause bad breath)? Scope describes the context in which a variable can be used. For example, if a variable's scope is a certain function, then that variable can only be used in that function. If you were to try to access that variable anywhere else in...

Using asp.net 2.0, I am finding that at times, the old javascript will still be there. I was working with it for a couple of hours and the changes seem to happen. But at the end of the day, I found that my last changes weren't taking affect. I was trying to delete my "alerts" before doing a final build but even after taking out all my alerts, when I built it and ran it - the alerts were still

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
