Hey all:
I know that it is silly in the age of Google to 'lose' something on the
internet, but I recently checked out a project that had implemented a
database with a subset of SQL in pure client-side javascript.
I forgot to bookmark it, and now I can't find it.
Anyone?

I have a table which is bound to an Internet Explorer XML
data island. I'm using ASP.NET's client-side validators
for an input field in the table. The problem is that if
the input fields are in a table that is bound to the
island (such that the rows are dynamically generated by IE
from the XML data island), the validators do not work. If
the table is not bound, the validators do work, but then I
don't have the table iterating through...

I want to know if ASP.NET Web Forms Validation Controls are Server-Side or
Client-Side form validation? Since I think each validator control can select
either 1) JavaScript based error dialog or 2) show the error message next to
the control. For example, if the text field is empty with RequiredField
Validator control, it can show the value in ControlToValidate property in
two ways as I mentioned.
Please advise. Thanks!

Hi,
I have run into a very strange scenario. In developing an ASP.NET
application on framework version 1.1, I found that certain client-side
validation scripts were not being rendered. The reason we came up with for
this was because we had a PageBase base class for all our pages. This base
class takes the controls on the child page class and places them onto the
form being rendered. It seems that in this process, the rendering of the...

I'm going back to a previous asp.net (C#) web project after a few months of
inactivity and my first form, the login, won't submit. I ran with the
debugger and still can't see how to resolve this. I am developing with
VS2003 and on Windows 2000 Server and have all of the service packs for .NET
and Windows. The application is running on an intranet and I'm running this
test with IE6. Javascript is functional.
The logon form has text fields...

How could I directly trigger a very simple on localhost and a known port
listening server from my internet browser client? Local host means the
little server would be running on the client machine, where my browser
resides. Browser would be IE, O.S. Windows 2000 or XP, and it's for an
intranet application. The goal of the little server on the localhost client
side would be to trigger a scanner, with the TWAIN library. Also this server
is...

Hi all,
I've been trying unsuccessfully to stop client side event validation.
I've created a simple page with a text box, a required field validator
and a server button with the following settings:
1. <pages enableEventValidation="false"in web.config
2. EnableClientScript="false" in the required field validator.
3. EnableEventValidation="false" in the Page directive (which, I know,
is not necessary).

Hi,
I have jsut started to learn ASP development and have read many
articles regarding which is the best to use regarding JavaScript or
VBScript. All of the learning that I have done so far has been using
VBScript.
I have done the usual database connection and querying stuff using
VBScript in my tutorials and have noticed that my code doesnt work
when using Mozilla Firefox as VBScript is a Micorsoft language and

Hi all,
I've been writing Javascript for quite a while now and have, of late,
been writing quite a lot of AJAX and AJAX-related code.
In the main, my dynamically generated pages are created using Perl on
the backend, with Javascript providing limited frontend functionality.
As an example, an expanding tree would be fully populated on the
server-side and then presented to the browser, with Javascript and CSS
being used to vary the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
