I can't get the correct IP address on Linux...
The following code works properly on Windows and Unix.
But on Linux, I always get the Loopback Address (127.0.0.1)
Here is the code :
//gets the IP via InetAddress class
//works on UNIX and WIN, but not on LINUX !!
InetAddress hostIP = InetAddress.getLocalHost();
String hostIPStr = hostIP.getHostAddress();

I am trying to run the java VM in a virtual linux webserver environment
with WebCentral:
http://www.webcentral.com.au/docs/products/display.cgi?id=104&productCategory=Linux%20Servers
When I invoke the java process, it fails with the output:
> Error occurred during initialization of VM
> Could not reserve enough space for object heap
The virtual server has 33MB of committed physical RAM, plus (in theory)

Hello,
I have a new Linux RH 9.0 server, on which I'm trying to setup DB2. I
did the RPM install of IBMJava2-JRE-1.4.1-2.0, which I got from the IBM
site. All *APPEARED* to have worked fine. But ... rpm -aq IBMJava2-JRE-
1.4.1-2.0 shows no entry. A simple rpm -aq shows it as the last item in
the list. <scratching head>.
Now, when I got to the place I untarred DB2 v8.1 (/local4/db281/009
_ESE_LNX_32_NLV) and type ./db2setup, what...

Maybe someone has some experience with "realtime" operation of JNI threads?
I have a java app, which calls some C++ code for real time actions. This C++ code creates an independant pthread to do its work, which should run every 20ms.
To do this, it does its business, then calculates how long to sleep for until the next 20ms boundry (sleeping using usleep()). Now, generally this works very nicely, except that 'sometimes' my usleep waits...
