Hi everyone, I am rather new to Java beans. Just picked up a book last night and started reading about them. I am building an application that allows a user to define objects with dynamic properties. Something similar to a java hash table. One can add new properties at runtime and remove them as well. I have a really fancy third party property inspector available to me that I would very much like to reuse. This inspector uses...

Hello, Apologies if this seems like a trivial question, but it would help me with my python, coming from a Java background. What is the preferred naming convention for a .py file, that contains a class ? For example, if I have one class (MyClass), I wouldn't really want to put it in myclass.py, as I'd end up referencing myclass.MyClass (unless I use the import-from which I'm trying to avoid).

What is C++ used for and why would a company benefit from someone who could use it? I would like you guys/and gals to give me some good questions & the correct answers so I can give this person a good review for my boss.

I came across this while looking for information on C++ and CORBA: http://www.zeroc.com/ice.html. It got me to wondering why I need two different languages in order to write distributed computing apps. In the case of CORBA, that means IDL and C++. In the case of ICE, that means slice and C++. Slice actually looks a lot closer to C++ than does IDL. Nonetheless, I'm wondering if there is some fundamental limitation in C++ which precludes...

Hello, I have a few rather urgent questions that I hope someone can help with (I need to figure this out prior to a meeting tomorrow.) First, a bit of background: The company I work for is developing a web-based application, one part of which involves allowing the user the ability to page through transaction "history" information. The _summary_ history table will have the following fields: ServiceName, Date, User-Ref1, User-Ref2,...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
