Heiya!

Sorry, I could not find you anything, looks like your best bet is doing it through javascript itself.

Do stay tuned for a better answer if any. Will try to find this post if I happen to stumble on anything later.

Here is the JavaScript forum if you're headed there:
http://bytes.com/forum/forum149.html

I would search further under 'Servlets to check if JavaScript is enabled' to see if anything pops up...

Good luck!

I've always been bothered about having to statically declare the size of a Java applet window (container?) in the calling HTML. I've always wanted the moral equivalent of width=50% statement (of the window or frame). I'm trying to use Javascript to do so. I can sort of get an example working in a Mozilla browser: > <!-- This works on Mozilla only (and maybe netscape) --> > <script language="Javascript"> > document.write( "<applet...

Ok I have XP Pro and recently upgraded to SP2 but after doing so one of my favorite webpages to check daily does not respond the same as before. It used to be (pre SP2) that I could when visiting this page http://facs.scripps.edu/surf/buoylist.html When I ran my mouse over the green CDIP buoys that it would not only show the current data in the upper part of the summary, but if I clicked on the Dana Point green bar for instance it would...

//crossposted to: comp.lang.javascript, alt.comp.lang.javascript in an effort to get factual answers from JavaScript experts// Simply put; Is it possible to obtain the real (actual) IP address of someone (client) that visits a web site through an anonymous proxy if this person ONLY has JavaScript enabled in their browser? This is NOT a question about PHP, perl, VBScript, Java(.class), or ActiveX. Let us _only_ deal with JavaScript for...

I have an aspx page with a data grid, some textboxes, and an update button. This page also has one html input element with type=file (not inside the data grid and runat=server). The update button will verify the information that has been entered and updates the data base if the data is correct. Update will throw an exception if the data is not validate based on some given rules. I also have a custom error handling page to show the...

Hi everyone, We' ve come to the conclusion that we wish the user to be directed to an error page if javascript is disabled <enter comment about how a webpage shouldn't rely on javascript here :) >. I've read quite a few posts on how to do this, but none meet my need (the two main suggestions was set a jsEnabled variable in a <scriptsection of the HTML and read it in PHP, and the other suggestion was by default loading the non js page,...

I am learning more and more Prototype and Script.aculo.us and got the Bungee book... and wonder if I should get some books on jQuery (jQuery in Action, and Learning jQuery) and start learning about it too? Once I saw a website comparing Prototype to Java and jQuery to Ruby... but now that I read more and more about Prototype, it is said that Prototype actually came from Ruby on Rails development and the creator of Prototype created it...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
