Hi:
Quick question: Using XP Home, should Access be installed in the Admin account, or in an
individual users account. If its installed in the Admin account, is it available to
everyone? I am a W98 user who is upgrading, and am uncertain about these things.

Hey Guys,
Today we are going to look at Code Access Security.
Code access security is a feature of .NET that manages code depending on its
trust level. If the CLS trusts the code enough to allow it ro run then it
will execute, the code execution depends on the permission provided to the
assembly. If the code is not trusted wnough to run or it attempts to perform
an action which doe not have the required permissions then its execution...

I am developing an ASP.NET web service application. It works fine on my
WinXP Prof development machine. But when I send it to a Windows Server 2003
system I get the following error (attached below).
I suppose I have some kind of permissions issue on the server? What
recommendations can anyone propose?
Thanks,
-- Bruce

Is there a way, given the full path of a folder on a network, that one can
programatically tell if you have Read access to that folder?
I have an application where the user is able to select a number of search
folders using the standard dialog control. There shouldn't be an issue with
the search folder being on a local drive or a network drive. But if you
don't have Read access to the folder, there's trouble. The user can see the...

I'm having a problem in accessing a Microsoft Access Database in a
VB.NET Web Application. It's so straight forward, I thought I'd walk
you through all the details here:
1) I have a .NET Web Application called "Lesson18b" under
"C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\Lesson18b".
2) I have one Web Form on this Lesson called "Form18b.aspx"
3) In this same Folder under Inetpub I have the Microsoft NorthWinds

I am getting a dreaded Access To Path <fileis denied in a C# program. I
tried granting full access to ASPNET (local machine), the user running the
program (a domain administrator) and continue to get the error everytime I
attempt to access the file, create a new file or delete the file. I even
attempted to set fileIOPermission to what I believe to be all access for the
file and the directory with the same result.
Any advise would be...

I have a php script that processes a form and then posts the user
input to a data file on the server in a comma delimited format. For
simplicity call the file "data.csv." The script is working well and
the data is posted correctly to the data file.
The big problem is that anyone can point their web browser to
www.mywebsite.com/data/data.csv and see exactly what is contained in
the data file. Obviously, I want the data in that file to...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
