Extraction of .dat Format

snowfall
56 New Member
My project is compressed in the .dat format through the VisualAge for Java(VAJ) IDE. I want to extract it and my IDE is corrupt.
Can you suggest someother ways to extract a .dat file?

TIA

No sense in giving up TIA!

I would reload my IDE and start over; here are some links I thought might interest you:

I have an application that I think was developed using some form of Borland C with a folder for BIG images with the extension .fre. When I try to view them they cannot be read even by changing the extension to jpg, bmp, zip, etc. I also used some utilities for resource extraction with no success. I know the images are there and there has to be a way to show and convert them to a known format. I have seen libjpeg.dll and zlib.dll in...

Hi, I need to parse text files to extract data records. The files will consist of a header, zero or more data records, and a trailer. I can discard the header and trailer but I must split the data records up and return them to an application. The complexity here is that I won't know the exact format of the files until run time. The files may or may not contain headers and trailers

Hello. I want to write a program that reads AutoCAD shape (font) files. They are written with the convention that hexadecimal values have a leading zero and decimal values do not. All numbers can be negative or positive. All numbers can be stored in a single byte. My questions is: can ifstream extraction into an int see the leading zero and interpret the number as hex and can I ask the ifstream, right after the extraction, if the value I...

Hi all, actually i'm now doing something on license plate recognition system for my project. The first step would be the license plate extraction algorithm which means it is needed to extract a license plate from an image captured. So, i wonder how can this be done? Actually i'm thinking of something like detect the image pixels of the license plate since the license plate that i'm gonna work on at this stage is black and white in color. So that...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
