This is more of a pain than I thought it would be. I need a simple code
segment to determine whether a browser accepts cookies or not. When I pass
variables between pages when cookies are turned off, the global variables
are empty between pages, fine, that tells me cookies store the global
variables - right? I store the values in $_session and when cookies are
turned on values are passed between web pages - I can see these values in
fields...

I need some help regarding cookies and session objects and also
global.asa file
I am creating one cookie when a user logs in on my website.
The cookie stores the login name of the user. I want that cookie
should get deleted when user closes the browser without signing out.
I think it is done in global.asa file . But i don;t know how to do it?

Dear All,
I'm new to ASP.NET and have been developing a small app at work to test
Forms Authentication. When running on my development machine (using
http://localhost/TestApp/Login.aspx for example) everything works fine -
that is, a successful (authenticated) login grants access to other app pages
and the authorization cookie is saved as expected on the local machine.
Unfortunately everything turns ugly when trying to 'test' the app...

I'm having trouble with using cookies to monitor the stages of login.
I have a two stage Registration page ( register.aspx ) and my target page
( MyPage.aspx )
I'm using a cookie named LoginStatus to tract the stage of the login
process.
LoginStatus = "1" denotes that the first part of the login process has been
performed.
LoginStatus = "2" denotes that the login process has been completed.

I have a simple html document I have been using for some time on my
(i.e.) abc.com domain that uses cookies. I recently purchased a new
domain name and set up a service to redirect my new domain (i.e.)
xyz.com to a sub-directory of the abc.com domain. In other words, when
someone goes to URL xyz.com, they really end up in abc.com/xyz
directory but the MSIE browser says they are xyz.com.
The problem is that cookies quit working in this...

will manage the persistence. I am faced with writing a C#.NET client
that uses a web reference to a SOAP web service, and I need to persist

Apologies of you have heard this many times before, but I don't know if
this is a .NET problem or javascript, or something else.
I am using IE6 to view pages from a corporate web server through
internet, not VPN. But, the I use a webhop service, so the URL I use is
silently redirected to another place. I think this is because the
company uses dynamic IP addresses for the server.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
