Hy! My next problem is to make an applet from my program. I have just add the "extend applet" to my class and removed the main-method by the start-method of the applet. I was thinking that this is enough, but it does not work, the file does not appear on the server. I have tried to start the applet local and also from the server, but it does not work. Here is the code: *****************************************

An applet on one of my pages uses a big picture as background. I want to load it before the applet and the rest of the html source. By doing this I want to avoid that the pane of the applet is grey during the load of the picture. How do I do that? Or even better: How can I display something like a progress bar or at least a temporary, self removing message (dialog) "Please wait a few second..." until the picture and the applet were...

Basically we have a system in place that moves files around and reads them in and so forth. I want to build a web app that will have the ability to track every business events real time as they are occurring in the system. All I can think to use is a java applet that will communicate with backend systems and in near real time kind of display to the user what is going on in the system. I guess I think of like a stock ticker which...

Hello everyone, I've got a question about programming by using Java applet and the question is : Design a web page containing an applet that simply switches from one image to the next with some transition effects such as : Fade: Fade one image out while you fade the next one in. Whirlpool fade: Building on the fade transition, rather than just fading between images the first image swirls out of focus; the swirl is then reversed and...

Hi! I know that ActiveX is an old technology. But it gives programmer ability to read all resources on local machine from IE. I am using it in one of my ASP.NET projects. Firefox can use ActiveX when you have plug-in installed. Is there anything ActiveX-like which is supported by all browsers? Thanks Hubertos

Hello everyone, I have been searching this forum for a solution to my problem, but unfortunately couldn't find anything so far. It would be very kind if you could take a look at this. I am trying to read an object, that I have saved before in a file called "eco.net", in an applet with the readObject() method: import java.applet.*; import java.io.*; public class TestApplet extends Applet { public void init() {

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
