That version is too old. JavaMail 1.4 (the current release) certainly won't run on it.
Always read the release notes and the readme files for version information.
Java 1.2 is years beyond its EOL (End Of Life) cycle. Why don't you simply
upgrade to the current 1.6. version? You won't have to go through all that old
version stuff then.

kind regards,

Jos

Nope, as I wrote: read the text files that come with the JavaMail distribution.
It clearly states:
JDK Version notes
-----------------

The JavaMail API supports JDK 1.4 or higher. Note that we have
currently tested this implementation only with JDK 1.4 and 1.5.

While JavaMail will work with JAF 1.0.2, we recommend the use of JAF 1.1.
kind regards,

Jos

I am using the JavaMail API to send email. It seems the Message.setSentDate(new Date()) sets wrong time zone. I am at GMT+1, and this is also what the new Date() is showing. But when the message arrives the header is showing it as GMT+2. It is always showing one time zone higher also if I change my time zone to something else in windows.

Hi @ll, I was wondering why I lose the connection to the mail store while retrieving information from it without calling the method store.close()! At the end I found out that the method folder.close(boolean) also close the store! Following you see the debug log of the JavaMail API: > C: QUIT

Hello, I'm building email messages and attachments via the JavaMail API, which are then sent via sendmail. The attachments are mime attachments of type "application/octet-stream". They are received via fine via lotus notes and outlook, but in outlook express, yahoo, and hotmail the attachment does not appear. Yahoo will even report the correct message size. Any ideas on what the issue could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm finding that as I loop through a large pop store and reading each message into an input stream that the JVM is running out of memory for the case where the pop store is large (several thousand messages). I've run this code through JProbe and found that InternetHeaders seems to be the culprit as the memory heap grows over time for this class but for the life of me I can't figure out how to get the objects freed up for garbage...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
