Java executable and "make" help

1 New Member
Hi,
I need some guidance on how to turn in the java programs as a executable. My requirement is this: I have a package(with .java and .class files) that I am sending it to my clients. They want the file to be sent as JAR. They need a makefile in it so that they can invoke make command to compile the project. To run the project, they want to give a name project1. Also this project1 should be able to be invoked from any directory.

Can anybody help me on how to do this?

So you need help:
1) turning your project into a .jar
2) creating a makefile to install the project
3)making sure the makefile installs into the path (I'm assuming this is a cygwin or *nix box because they are using makefiles...)

Is that right?

While running make, I obtain the following error: make: *** No rule to make target `amino_acid_param.h', needed by `pdb2txt_relax.o'. Stop. I'm confused, since header files (*.h) shouldn't need rules because they're not compiled. What can I do? Below is the makefile. Note that this makefile calls another makefile, and it seems the error comes from this fact.

Man, just got a new drive and realized I have to now install THREE versions of Visual Studio (6, 2003 & 2005). Why can I not use the latest version to work with EVERYTHING? You know, "make as ..."? :) OK maybe not for 6, but why can I not create 1.1 apps with 2005?

I cannot find the answer anywhere on the entire net: I have an image on my website. The image shows a newsletter, and the image says "Click here to register to receive our newsletter". I know how to make the image link to a url, but I don't want to do that. What I want to do is when you click on the image, it calls an external javascript function that brings up a popup where you enter your name and email address and submit. The external...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
