I am trying to use php as a kind of servlet to act as a middle man
between a java applet and mysql. I know java has jdbc but it's flakey
and painful. php access to mysql is much nicer. So I have:
1. An html page that holds the applet.
2. a php page that accepts data submitted to it by the applet via the
$_POST array and writes it to the mysql database. This page never
makes it to the browser window.
3. a simple Thank you page that shows...

Hi,
I know this question has prob. been asked a million times, but I couldn't
find it in the FAQ, so here goes :
I'm trying to write a Java applet to call a dll that resides on the web
server (running IIS 6). I've written a little test applet that should call a
helloWorld function in the dll, but when I use System.loadLibrary, it gives
me this security warning :

I've searched over and over again and have not been able to find a
definitive answer.
Basically, we have a heavily JavaScripted web site. What I was hoping
to do was to start enhancing our site by calling some Java functions
via JavaScript.
I have tried every sample I could find on the net and none of them
works with Mozilla or Explorer. I've read 4 or 5 books on Java and
JavaScript programming and none of the code in them works any...

Dear newsgroup,
I give up, I must be overseeing something terribly trivial, but I can't
get a simple (Java) applet to react to incoming (python) SocketServer
messages.
Without boring you with the details of my code (on request available,
though), here is what I do :
I have a TCPServer and BaseRequestHandler .

hello all,
I am new to java and java applets. i'm trying to "interact" with a java
applet on a website. After loading the webpage that contains the applet into
a browser object (in visual basic.net) i was able to to make simple calls to
the java applet - calls such as .getcodebase and .getparameter along with a
few others.
i decompiled the java class files for this applet (the web site stores them
in a zip file on your local drive)...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
