I'm having troubles getting the euro sign through an XML parser. With the following test code: <?php $string = "<root><test>€</test></root>"; $parser = xml_parser_create(); xml_set_character_data_handler( $parser, 'cdata' ); xml_set_element_handler( $parser, 'starthandler', 'endhandler' );

I refined my attempt a little further, and the following code does seem to work, however it has 2 major problems: 1. Very limited support for XPath features Basic paths are supported for elements, attributes, ".", and "..", plus also the "" predicate format is supported - however, only one predicate per path step is supported, and expr must be a relative path. 2. Poor performance

Hi, I have a substantial xml file, which represents a large chunk of system data. In one part of my application I want to retrieve three or four elements from this xml. At this point, I do not have the XML stored in memory as a DOM. It seems like a lot of processing to convert it into a DOM just to retrieve a few elements, likewise, I have no idea where in the file the elements are, so it take some time to parse it using SAX.

I have 2 XML data files that I want to extract data from simultaneously and transform with XSLT to generate a report. The first file is huge and when XSLT builds the DOM tree in memory, it runs out of space. I only need a few branches of elements from the original XML, so I am seeking a recomended way of building a DOM for XSLT of only the elements that I need. I'm writing a Java application that invokes Xalan, and reading up on SAX...

Hello, I have a XML file using Iso 8859-1 encoding. Every time when I try to put & character as Tag's value like <tag>This is & character</tag> Exception is shown in my application. I use XMLDocument reader in .NET platform. How should people code & character as an ordinary data character? I don't mean any platform dependent solution just XML's point of view.

I am writing a XML parser in Javascript and i have difficulty to understand the specifics of some "entities". I would want to understand the way in which the non-validating XML Parsers manage entities (ENTITY) in XML documents. In practical i don't understand if XML Parsers manage the values of Internal Entities (<!ENTITY entityname "replacement text">), if they manage the Parametric Entities and if the Entity Reference is only a Node or...

Hello I'm not familiar with xerces in c++ Currently, we parse xml file with perl (typically XML::Twig) and java (dom4j). With both API, there is a very comfortable way to mix Sax/DOM, by setting handlers to some elements paths. The xml file is parsed, then once a defined paths is reached, the

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
