Hello NG,
probably this is a basic question, but I'm going crazy... I am unable
to find an answer. Suppose that I have a file (that I called "Errors.txt")
which contains these lines:
MULTIPLY
'PERMX' @PERMX1 1 34 1 20 1 6 /
'PERMX' @PERMX2 1 34 21 41 1 6 /
'PERMX' @PERMX3 1 34 1 20 7 14 /

Quick Question:
StringBuilder is obviously more efficient dealing with string concatenations
than the old '+=' method... however, in dealing with relatively large string
concatenations (ie, 20-30k), what are the performance differences (if any
with something as trivial as this) between initializing a new instance of
StringBuilder with a specified capacity vs. initializing a new instance
without... (the final length is not fixed)

Hello,
I have been struggeling for replacing a string in a string. The snippet
from the program below replaces the <, & and > with the XML equivalent
values.
In the program, I allocate space for storing the XML value. This makes
my life a bit easier since I can easilly reallocate space to include
the required new space.

Can you do a search for more that one string in another string?
Something like:
someString.IndexOf("something1","something2","something3",0)
or would you have to do something like:
if ((someString.IndexOf("something1",0) >= 0) ||
((someString.IndexOf("something2",0) >= 0) ||

I need to prepare a large text database field to display in an asp.net
repeater control. Currently I am replacing all chr(13)'s with a "<br/>" and
it works fine. However, now I also want to be able to replace TAB's with
" "'s to preserve the user's indentation. My questions are:
1) even though I'll probably look it up before I get a reply.... whats the
vb code for TAB character?
2) more importantly; do I have to run this large field...

Hi everyone,
Can you help me please? Say you have hashtable of about 500 key/value
pairs. This hashtable has to parse a word. If the word matches the key
the then said word must be replaced by the value.
My question is though - would parsing occur faster if the word is
input as a type string or a type stringbuilder? Do you see my point?
Would appreciate any comments/experiences/suggestions that anyone has
on this one...

Hi,
What regex do I need to split a string, using javascript's split
method, into words-array?
Splitting accroding to whitespaces only is not enough, I need to split
according to whitespace, comma, hyphen, etc...
Is there a regex that does the trick?
Thanks, Anat.

I have to go through a file and replace any occurrences of a given
string with the desired string, like replacing "bug" with "feature".
This is made more complicated by the fact that I have to do this with
a lot of replacements and by the fact that some of the target strings
are two words or more long, so I can't just break up the file at
whitespace, commas, and periods. How's the best way to do this? I've
thought about using strstr() to...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
