I've recently decided to switch from compiled Apache/PHP to RPM's of
both and I'm having a problem I can't seem to solve. I have a Perl
script called php_include.cgi that parses a PHP file for inclusion. It
does this by running "php -f " but unfortunately it
no longer works with the RPM:

differently when called from the browser as opposed to the command
line. The calling script is a cgi that forks, with the child trying to
call another cgi script and pass arguments to it. It works fine from
the command line, and calls the required script and passes the

I am trying to call a perl program (that connects a webserver database) from a php program via a webbrowser. For example : http://development.noaa.gov/test_exec.php?dataid=8313. The test_exec.php script that calls the perl program is as follows:

Hi.
I need to develop a web based application which uses php for the front
end and statistical manipulations in perl - my question is - how do i
call a perl script from php - i guess the answer is gonna be exec. I
cant seem to understand how can i pass variables from the PHP script
to the Perl script and vice versa using exec? Is there a better way to
go about it?
