Hi Gurus
In my quest in putting my first javascript together, I am now trying to
conquer something that seems trivial, but has taken me hours.
I would like to format a field in a form once the person has completed it.
The format should be "00". For example, if the person puts 1 then it should
become 01 and if the person puts 12 in the field then it should stay like
that. If the person puts 2004 then it should become 04, and if the...

Hi,
I'm trying to create a form with a text-input (not textarea) that
expands to the size available, using CSS. I thought that a simple
display:block would work:
<form>
<div>
<input type="text" style="display: block">
</div>

I have read several variations of this topic posted on this news group.
However I was not able to find the answer for my problem.
I am trying to build code (see below) to update a large single record
using data from a temporary (editing) table with identical field
structure. I iterate through the fields (some 50 of them) with a For
Each - Next loop to update each field with the SQL statement. The
updating works fine with numeric data type...

I have an aspx page with a data grid, some textboxes, and an update button.
This page also has one html input element with type=file (not inside the data
grid and runat=server).
The update button will verify the information that has been entered and
updates the data base if the data is correct. Update will throw an exception
if the data is not validate based on some given rules. I also have a custom
error handling page to show the...

Hi everyone,
I have a page with a login box. Because of lack of space, instead of
labels I put the descriptive text in the input fields (so username input
says 'username', and password input says 'password').
The password field however, once it does have the focus, it should mask
its input. Now what I've done, and works in firefox, is
onfocus="this.type='password'; this.value='';". (Its a bit more complex
than that, but this is...

Hi, I am having trouble developing a form in a restricted environment. My sample code is found below my message (sorry I don't have a URL). Basically, without a doctype, the form displays properly with 3px padding around each form field, and no overlap. But the doctype changes the box model, I am told, and so the padding is added to the 100% width, leading to overlap and poor presentation. Unfortunately, I'm forced to use the doctype due to...

Hi, I have some simple HTML like this:
<div id="container" style="width:100%;">
<input type="text" <input type="button" style="float:right;"
value="Click here...">
</div>
I want the button to remain the normal size and be right-aligned, and
the edit box to automatically take up the remaining width of the
container.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
