It's obvious, that Windows XP has a Java 2 VM (including the SWING-module),
because we can all run Java 2 applets in Internet Explorer. But what about
the support for Java 2 Applications?
I would just like to run an application packed in a JAR-file on Windows XP:
JavaProg.jar (Java Archive Resource). But without installing a SDK, i don't
have an association of the JAR-file to be started with JAVAW, or the JAVA
command to use 'java -jar...

I am verifying a large DSP algorithm using JBuilder 7 and Windows 2000
Professional. The result of my test depends on the way I run the
program, though. Here is the situation:
a) I run the application normally by pressing the run button. The
output window indicates that "javaw" is used. THE ALGORITHM FAILS, but
not in the same way from invocation to invocation.

Hi to all!
As I read in the bug report on the Sun website, the bug, that java and
javaw uses different default locales should be fixed with 1.4.2, but I
use 1.4.2_04 and this bug still occurs.
If use the same jar-package and once I start it with java.exe, then
everything works fine and the default locale in the application is set
to the currently selected os language. If I start it with javaw.exe

My JavaScript Form Validation doesn't work at all in Netscape, but it
works fine in IE.
I made some of the suggested changes which enabled it to work in IE.
I couldn't make all the changes because then it didn't work in IE.
How can I enable this javascipt form validation to work in Netscape?
When I use netscape, none of the alert boxes appear. It submits the
form without validating anything.

considering trying to upgrade from 8.1.6 UDB windows to 8.2.X
(downloaded FP13 today), again. last time I tried it, kept getting
javaw errors afterwards, and backed up to 8.1.6.
found this FAQ, reference 28132, that suggests removing the .prf files,
but doesn't explain why this would fix the problem. does anyone know?
my machine is win2k/SP4 and java (Sun) 1.5.0_08. 8.1.6 doesn't mind.

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
