I've been tasked with doing technical interviews at my company,
and I have generally ask a range of OO, Java, and "good programming
technique" concepts.
However, one of my favorite exercises I give interviewees seems
to trip them up all the time, and I wonder if I'm being too much
of a hardass... it seems easy enough to ME, but these guys, when
I get them up to the whiteboard, seem to get really confused.
The exercise is this:

I have a number of xsd files defining schema for web services that are in
pairs of a Request.xsd (to define the structure of a request) and a
Response.xsd (to define the structure of a response). What I am trying to do
is a) use these files to build a WSDL file and from there b) build the basic
skeleton Java classes needed to create this rpc web service (using WSDL2Java
or something).
I am wondering if anyone has any advice on the first...

Hello Friends,

I'm uploading file to my application using a java applet sending the request
(the file) through socket to my asp.net page.
On my asp.net page, I've override the httpmodule to take in the request and
saves the file to disk (on the server).
My .net side works if I use a simple html file input and post it, I've read
in the uploaded request (multipart form), and reproduced it in the java
applet.
Everything works fine when I upload...

Hi all,
I have got to say that my first foray into postgresSQL is becoming a
very madening experience... I am sure it is my own fault for not knowing
very much but it seems that everything I have tried so far to improve
performance has in fact made it a lot worse. Now my program dies after
roughly 300 seconds of processing directories and updates take literally
10 time longer than inserts (which are themselves very slow).
I am sorry...

Hello,
I'm writing an application that takes pen data and tries to recognize the character and therefore predict the word you are writing. A java file will be returning text to stdout that contains the possible characters that the user just wrote.
I would like to be able to use nltk_lite in python to find possible words based on the bigram and return these possibilities to the java GUI to allow the user to choose the correct word.
I plan...

Hi *,
Mein letzter...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Adolph will...
