apologies for asking this. it must have been answered before. i have
really tried to find the answer elsewhere.
a simple question: i'd like to remove all ignorable whitespace from
my minidom representation. it make the DOM much cleaner (for me).
i've resorted to parsing first with Sax2 and using StripXml to deal
with the whitespace. why not stick with the Sax2 DOM you ask? legacy
code all uses the minidom, and they're not *quite*...

Perhaps I've missed something obvious, but after reading the docs and
doing some Google search I can't find how to detect ignorable whitespace
with the Expat parser.
Could somebody enlighten me?
Thanks,

Hi there,
A class in Xerces J-API (Java) called TextImpl contains a property that
returns whether the text is ignorable whitespace
(http://xml.apache.org/xerces-j/apiDocs/org/apache/xerces/dom/TextImpl.html#isIgnorableWhitespace()). ;
I guess when they refer to "ignorable whitespace" in Java we may interpret
that as an "insignificant whitespace" in .NET. Am I correct to say that?
So, I need to manually convert some Java code to C#,...

Hello,
I try to remove whitespaces from a string using the preg_replace function
like
preg_replace("/*/"," ",$string);
This works great, but makes no handles all characters in the same way. I
want to preserve data between double quotes. So,
hello world "It is a sunny... world"

When a Button is clicked in a Form, the JavaScript 'prompt' dialog
pops-up for users to enter any text. When the user clicks OK in the
prompt dialog, the text is populated in a TextBox & the Form posts. I
then retrieve the text using Request.Form.
The problem I am facing is in retaining whitespaces in the text the
user has entered. Assume that the user has entered the following text
in the JavaScript prompt dialog (note the whitespaces...

I'm trying to get a regular expression to work in JS. It appears to be
working everywhere else I'm testing it (an app called Regex Coach and php)
but I can't seem to get it to work in JS. What the regex is supposed to do
is:
<p></p>
OR

OR

Hello!
I am a java programmer who is learning C++. I am working on a project that requires a JAVA server I have written to interact with a C++ client I am currently writting. I am having difficulties writing out on the socket, specifically I try and send a char* array over the socket with whitespaces but the socket seems to only send up to the first white space. Can you help me send a message over the socket?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
