our Small Business Server at work (1024/512 ADSL). I'm running a small asp
web site that generates pages from our sales database of around 1k per page
(no graphix, just text). I'm using a PDA (HP iPAQ) and a Bluetooth

This problem has been challenging me for several days now.
I have a web site that uses the usual, mundane Basic Authentication.
But, now I have a request (actually, a demand) that users from a
particular, trusted subnet of my company, want to be able to have
access to the web site WITHOUT the username/password popup window
coming up. (They...

HOW in the world is this accomplished! I have an internet site I am
prototyping and I need to be able to prevent "casual" browsing of XML
documents. Using the web.config forms based authentication does nothing to
prevent XML documents from being browsed. We obviously are not interested in
turning on digest or basic authentication for this...

I've got an asp.net site which runs from IIS 5. On 4 customers sites, this
site runs ok. On our main customers site, one of the pages takes a little
while to process a request & times out - giving the user a "The page cannot
be displayed" error message.
These are the settings I've put in the web.config file:...

Our intranet is running under windows integrated security. We have
domain users that want to access our intranet site via ssl vpn. SSL
VPN can not authenticate against services that run under windows

I'm creating a new intranet web site in VS 05 .NET 2.0 and I don't want my
users to log into the site at all. How can get thier username and show their
full name on my web page and how can I give the users "roles"? meaning, if
the AA hits the site I dont want her seeing IT menu picks or menu options not

I have a web site that is secure by forms authentication. I've put in
changes to allow a virtual directory to be accessed by everyone but it
doesn't seem to have taken. I always end up being pushed back to my login
page.
I then took out all authentication - made it allow all and I'm still being
forced back to the my login page. Is there...

I'm looking for feedback on an authentication solution we are
considering for an ASP.NET 2.0 project.
The site will be accessed by both internal users who are logged into
the Windows domain, and external (business partner) users via the
internet.
The internal users are required to be authenticated via Windows Integrated Authentication...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in...
