You dont need software to do this, all you have to do is rename the file from "filename.htm" to "filename.txt"

hi ...

so that is mainly a serverside task ... or does the user enter more information before and you want to save the changes? ... could you explain the scenario in more detail? i think it covers some different problems that shoud be seperated out before ... and there are different options to do that ... but: saving to the DB would always involve a serverside script ... while traversing the document might be done at the client or the server ... but to recommend something the problem should be more clear ...

kind regards

hi ...

could you give an short example? i think you want to strip the html-tags out of the html-file and only want to save the text ... but in my opinion it dosn't make sense since you loose all semantic information that way except you wnat to store the entire text that resides when it is stripped ... how would you traverse a plain text?

kind regards

If you have any kind of WYSIWYG software (Microsoft Frontpage, Macromedia Dreamweaver, etc), you should just be able to open the html file in design view, then copy and paste the text. That will remove all the code, and leave you only the text.
