There are about a million posts on how to get rid of the extra space _after_ the
form end-tag, but I can't find any that solve my problem: extra space _in_ the
form tag.
I have a table nestled inside the form and since I want the submit button
underneath the input text field i have a br tag to separate them. For some
reason IE5.5 gives me what seems like two br tags. It looks good in Opera 7,
and in K-Meleon 0.6 (Gecko).

I'm trying to layout a couple text input fields and their
corresponding labels without using a table. When I was trying to
debug my understanding of CSS, I was *very* surprised to see that
span's with borders behave counter-intuitively (IMHO) when using
style="white-space: nowrap;".
Below is a fairly small chunk of XHTML that demonstrates what I'm
talking about. What gives?

I am having a problem with extra, unwanted space showing
up on my web form tables. I've tried hand coding and can
get the htm file to display fine. But as soon as I bring
the form into Visual Studio, convert it to an aspx web
form, and insert my user controls, I start getting extra
blank space between my rows, even when I give an
explicit "height" attribute.
The problem seems to occur with tables that have rowspans
and/or user...

I'm making a form that is hidden until someone clicks on a link to open it.
I can hide the form, but there is just a large white space on the screen
where the form is hiding. Is there any way to close the white space when
the form is not showing? At the moment I'm using a <div> and hiding the
visibility, and then making it visible when the link is clicked:
<div id="form" style="visibility: hidden; etc...

Hi,
I am consuming a web service in my asp.net application. I added the
web references in Visual Studio by pointing to a wsdl file. Visual
Studio automatically creates the Reference.cs file and the code that
is used to serialize the classes used in the server's service. I
create an instance of the input variable, set my values, and pass it
to a method. The class is serialized/deserialized for me into an XML
string that is sent to the...

Greetings:
I know that variables declared on a stack definitely does not reside in heap
space so there is only a very limited amount of stuff that you can store in
the stack of a function. But what about the global space? Is that the same
as the heap space or is that still a form of special stack? Because once
I've seen someone declare a 1 megabyte char array in global space like this:
char s;

Hi,
Hopefully someone can help me. I have setup a continuous form that displays
customer names and addresses. I have then place a txt box on the form
header. Using the onChange event I've setup some VBA to update the record
source on the form based on the data entered into the text box. The problem
I have is that when if I type some search data containing a space into the
text box, when the requery is finished access appear to...

Ok , developing a .aspx page with Visual Web Studio (the full page is
at the bottom). Basically its a page that displays all my computers
and the current logged on user pulling data from a live Altiris
database.
This works fine, i have added a feature with a link for me to click to
run radmin against that computer so i can remote control it.
The link shows properly when I hover over it

I'm getting 'Out of Stack Space' error messages. The process involves
two forms. Form A opens Form B in dialog mode and passes through
OpenArgs.
Form B contains a 'Tab' control having two pages. The 'Out of Stack
Space' error always (nearly always) occurs when clicking the 2nd page
tab. It doesn't occur anyway else in the project.
On testing, turning off all the 'On Error GoTo' statements the
offending line is set at Form A on...

I have a logical drawing space much bigger than the viewport (the
screen) and I'd like to center the viewport (the screen) to be at the
center of the logical drawing space. After following the excellent
transforms specified on Bob Powell's site, I still wonder if there's
an easier way of centering it than the following procedure?
Here is what I do now (it's awkward but it works):
1) I follow the transforms specified on Bob Powell's...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
