Hello,
I want to add some text in front of an object. I want to use the
":before" tag for that. I've tried to do this like the following:
object[classid="clsid: D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"],
embed[type="applicati on/x-shockwave-flash"] + *:before {
content:"test";
font-size: 1.2em;
color: #000;
border: 1px solid #000;
font-weight: bold;
display: block;
padding: 10px;
}
This doesn't work.
what am I doing wrong?
Thank you very much in advance

It's not a tag, it's a pseudo-element. There are no tags in CSS, and most of
the time people mean something different in HTML terms too, when saying
"tag".
object[classid="clsid: D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000"], embed[type="applicati on/x-shockwave-flash"] + *:before {

embed[type="applicati on/x-shockwave-flash"]:before {
Should work in CSS2 browsers, IE neither being nor claimed to be one.

data it does not format it correctly. Can anyone please point me in

I am working on creating an editable grid (for use in adding,
deleting, and editing rows back to an Oracle database). I have a JSP
that posts back to a servlet, which in turns posts to a WebLogic SFSB
and, from there, to the database.
On the front end, all cells appear as text fields. However, for
certain cells, when the user clicks on the cell, the text field turns
into a drop-down field (i.e. Select object), defaulting to the value...

A while ago I read news about ASP.Net 2.0 having support for the Front
Controller model,
In all the reports I have read and in the latest beta download I can
see no implicit support for this model
Does anyone have any ideas?

Let's say I have an MDI parent form with a textbox. If I create an MDI
child form and, at runtime, move the MDI child window over the textbox on
the MDI parent, the textbox appears in front of the MDI child window.
How can I make the MDI child window appear in front of any controls that may
be on the MDI parent?
thanks, John

I have a money field defined in a SQL Server 05 database with a value of
49.50. Also, it displays in SQL Server as 49.5000. I have a form in VB.NET
2005 and I'm using the new MaskedTextBox control in Visual Studio. I set the
Mask property for the text box to "$999.00".
The problem is when I run the form the text box displays "$495.00" and not
"$49.50" as one would expect. It it shifting the values left here. How do I
fix this?
Thanks...

RE: Access 2003
My application has been split and the front end runs on client PCs with the
back end on a LAN file server. Also I have an updater routine that copies
an updated client from the LAN file server to the client PCs when needed. I
keep the client front end on the LAN server for distribution purposes. The
problem is that occasionally, user's get confused and go to the LAN file
server and run the application from the front end...

Hello,
I have the following situation:
Thread A is allocating a dataset, doing some low-level calculations
and storing a pointer to the dataset in a std::list via push_back.
Thread B should retrieve the pointer to the first dataset in the list,
remove it from the list, and do some high level analysis.
The problem now is, how do I efficiently retrieve the pointer?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
