Hello,
I've made myself an online portfolio site, at http://cv.joeblade.com/ - in IE
6 and Opera 7.23, it displays exactly as I want it to, but in Firefox, there
are problems with the image that *should* be below the list of contents -
it's appearing *underneath* the list of contents instead, and I can't quite
work out why. If anyone could help, I'd appreciate it.

I think there's one other thing that separates us from animals. We aren't
afraid of vacuum cleaners.

Hi, I have a webpage that is taking input from a form and using it as
criteria to select data out of an sql database. The page displays an
html table with the results. The user can then click a button "excel"
to open or save the file as an excel document. This works, and
everything in the excel document is formatted fine except for the
first column which in this case is "Part Number". The problem is that
this part number: 883100105100...

Please open http://www.highscore.de/opera/floatleft.html in Opera 7.54 and
Firefox 1.0 Preview. Who is right?
In my humble opinion Opera 7.54 is right: According to CSS 2.1 a "floating
box must be placed as high as possible" (see
http://www.w3.org/TR/CSS21/visuren.html#float-position rule #8). Do you
agree?
BTW, Internet Explorer 6 behaves like Opera 7.54.

I've been building a new homepage at

But for some reason it only works in firefox, any ideas? Feel free to
look through my source.
I was going to use this as a base for a CMS (PHP/MySQL) which I would
build the template around...
Thanks in advance,

I've heard that at <URL:http://www.merlyn.demon.co.uk/js-clndr.htm#P>
and using Opera the suffixed dates in the yellow box appear in a single
long line instead of in the obvious weekly manner. It's OK in IE 4 & 6.
That sounds as if if (++k%7==0) document.writeln() is not working
in Opera.
Any explanation and/or suggestions? In particular, I'd like to know
whether the circumstances will apply elsewhere on the site.

When loaded from my hard drive, the webpage I'm working on renders fine
on IE6, Firefox 2.0.0.1, and Opera 9.02. However, after uploading it to
the web there are 2 images that fail to display on those browsers. All
the other images and everything else on the page render just fine.
1.) I converted one of the gif images to a jpeg but that made no
difference.
2.) I validated the webpage offline using Tagcheck, and online using the...

Hi, thanks for reading this post. I have a web page that displays fine in IE but in Firefox and Safari there is a space at the top of the web page. It is as if the whole page is pushed down, like there is a large margin at the top. Thank you. My code is as follows:

<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1">

For a site i am working on, I am using some images as buttons that
have text in them (a custom font). When viewing the site using opera,
my browser of choice, the buttons are displayed very crisply even with
different sized browser windows. However with both IE and Firefox the
buttons don't display nearly as crisply. Is anyone familiar with the
difference in how Opera displays images as opposed to IE/Firefox?
Thanks

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
