Firebird 0.6.1: 1px padding in <div> where none should be - other browsers do fine

I've designed some hp for a friend's wedding relying completely on
absolute positioning of all elements using CSS. However, the only
browser that displayed it properly was IE 6.0 so I went back to business
as usual designing the layout using tables with some additional CSS
tags.

Now the page looks as intended on almost any current browser, only
Firebird is behaving somewhat strangely. I suspect the same problem will
occur with Mozilla (haven't tried yet) cause I had some of those margin
problems back in Netscape 4.x. In case you find the time please take a
look at both the right borders of the page at http://hasenhochzeit.de.tk

I've used

div.rahmen2 { width:796px;bor der-style:solid;bor der-
width:1px;borde rcolor:#B8B8B0; padding:0px; }

to draw a border around a table with white background so that it's
separated from the blue background of the page. Unfortunately Firebird
does add an inner margin of 1px but only on the right side of the div
enclosed content. How come? In IE and Opera there's no margin but a
seamless integration as intended. Thanks for any hints.

Doubtful. Mozilla (including Firebird) is a completely different
browser. Other than the fact that Netscape 7 is based on Mozilla
code, there is no relation between Mozilla and NS4.x.

I have a problem displaying a divbox containing a html-textarea - everything works fine with "normal" characters. However, when the textarea contains special chars like <P> or ' , the box fails to show: function show(divbox) { divbox.style.display=''; } <div id="divbox" style="display:none" >

Hi, totally new to the div show/hide thing. I have some rows in a table. When I first load the page, I only want to see divs where the divID=ForView. When I load now, I see BOTH rows...even though I have one set to style="display='none'". When I click on the Edit button on a row, I want to hide that row and in its PHYSICAL place show the ForEdit div for that item...leaving all other divs as is. I've seen some examples, everyone seems...

Hi, What I'm trying (quite poorly) to do is make it so when a link is clicked the text inside a div or p changes. I've tried numerous things, most of which work in IE but none of which work in gecko browsers e.g. Mozilla, Netscape, Epiphany etc etc. This is what I have now and works fine in IE but sits there doing nothing in anything else:

Here is the problem. The following script/html code works in IE, not Netscape. The javascript portion produces the text to be dynamically written in the <A HREF="">HEREHEREHERE</A> portion... The HEREHEREHEREHERE writes fine in internet explorer, but does not appear at all in Netscape 7.1. I think it might have something to do with layers... How do I correct this? Thanks. -----------------------JAVASCRIPT...

I'm somewhat new to javascript/DHTML, and this problem has been plaguing me. I have made an 'array' of <div> tags within my html document like so: <div id="menu"> menu1 </div> <div id="menu"> menu2 </div> <div id="menu"> menu3 </div> <div id="menu"> menu4 </div> <span onclick="showOrHide('menu')"> show/hide menu1 </span>

Hi all, I've written code (in REXX) that takes files in legacy languages (PL/I, COBOL, z/OS assembler, etc) and converts them into HTML in a format similar to what's displayed in the z/OS ISPF editor. A fellow member of the PCG has helped me by creating a bit of Javascript to emulate the scrolling and using Google I've now gotten it into a state where it almost passes the W3C Markup Validation Service. However, the one error, Error Line 166,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
