Scroll bars in !(Quircks mode)

I'm just transcoding my HTML pages from Quirks to Standard mode. Doing so I noticed that whenever a frame's content overflows its frame, TWO scroll bars appear in Standard mode, a vertical and a horizontal one.

I understand that the vertical scroll bar hides a part of the body and thus the horizontal scroll bar appears. Nonetheless the horizontal scroll bar appears to be odd from my point of view.

Which properties could I possibly set to an appropriate value in order to prevent the horizontal scroll bar from appearing?

TIA,
Axel

Please take a look at and run the code snippet shown below. It creates a canvas with vertical & Horizontal scroll-bars. If you shrink the window to smaller than the area of the canvas, the scroll-bars work as advertised. That's great. However, if you click the Left Mouse button, it calls code which expands the width of the canvas by 100 pixels. The area being viewed expands correspondingly..... BUT I DON'T WANT IT TO!!

Hi, I am struggling with a problem for sometimes. I need to display a table in a html and if the height of the table goes beyond 200 px then a vertical scrollbar should alone appear without any horizontal scroll bar. If the height of the table is less than 200 px then no scroll bars should appear. Here is the html below. I tried to wrap the table around a <div> tag but its doesn't work out as the scroll bar appear close to the scroll bar...

I have noticed that if I have a data grid with scrollbars and scroll it off screen and back again that the scroll bars are missing. Thinking that this was just a repaint issue, I attempted to click on the region where the scroll bars would have existed to try to scroll - thereby causing the bars to repaint. No joy there. While I can call the datagrid's invalidate function each time I manually add a row to the underlying table, this...

I have a TableLayout that I'm having problems with. I am placing controls in it that have scroll bars. When I put enough of them on the control to make the TableLayout's scroll bars appear the scroll bars for the TableLayout cover up my scroll bars for the child controls. When I resize the form it fixes and the child controls are in the appropriate places. This also occurs when the form is maximized and I restore down.

I’m using the Panel control that contains a PictureBox control (for implementing the http://www.codeproject.com/cs/miscctrl/PictureBox.asp). The Panel is set to AutoScroll = true. I wish to scroll the appearing vertical and horizontal scrolls bars of the Panel to the middle of their scrolling range so the contained PictureBox will be centered inside the Panel. But I could not find a way to get the scrolls bars for doing that.

When I open a form design window in Access 2003 it *always* has scroll bars, this is even when the form itself is tiny. It's as if the 'page' on which the form is being designed is very large. Is this normal? If so it's very annoying and confusing. If not then how do I get it so my form design window doesn't have scroll bars. -- Chris Green

We have a database that can be accessed by a small number of users on a small network. The database is on the server. One form has a combo box with a large number of selections. Usually there is a scroll bar on the right hand side when the combo box is selected. One user comments that he doesn't always get the scroll bar. The problem is variable - excuse the pun - sometimes the scroll bar is never there, sometimes it disappears after a...

I am developing an application in Access 2000 (A2K) which has multiple forms and subforms. Until now, all subforms displayed scroll bars properly (according to the subform's property setting). However, a new subform control will not display horizontal scroll bars despite it's form's property setting. I have tried deleting and recreating both the subform control and the subform itself thinking this would address the issue. I also tried...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
