Alternative to framespacing attribute in the <frameset> tag?

How to I eliminate the gap between frames without using the 'framespacing'
attribute in the <frameset> tag? (I'm using IE 6)

Can I use CSS do this?

Thanks
Peter

PS: Please don't tell me not to use frames.

Do you mean you tested it in IE6? Otherwise, what difference does it
make that you use some particular brand of browser?

Please don't ask a question if you don't want the answer

rotfl. But then, considering the product, that might have been the
best course of action. ;-)

(Your sig is fine, of course. I manually pasted that text in.)

It's nice that they didn't keep us waiting for it, anyhow ;-)

Why do you want to get rid of the "framespaci ng" attribute? So your html
will validate? Why do you want or need it to validate? Sometimes you
gotta just decide what's more important to you and your site's visitors.

I haven't seen a way to do it with CSS, nor to do it across browsers
and have it validate. Which is not to say there isn't a way, just that I
haven't seen it. I tried to figure it out once, but you also gotta
decide what's the best use of your time.

OK. Your call.

Eliminate the frames?
Can I use CSS do this?

The CSS specs do not specifically mention frames, no doubt at least partly
because they are deprecated. Having said that, you may be able to do it by
setting
frameset {margin:0;}
or something, but I doubt it. And (especially since it isn't mentioned in
the specs), browser behaviour could vary significantly.

Why ask the question if you already know the answer?

This question is about html. I have this: <frameset rows="90%,10%" frameborder="NO" border="0" framespacing="0" cols="1"> <frame name="topFrame" noresize src="c:\bpp.xml"> <frame name="bottom" scrolling="NO" noresize src="c:\btn.htm"> </frameset> Is there a way to assign html code to frames "in code", not to have to specify src property? Something like:

It looks like there's a pretty serious CSS bug in IE6 (v6.0.2800.1106). The HTML below is validated STRICT HTML 4.01 and renders as I would expect in Opera, FrontPage, and Netscape. For some reason, there's an annoying vertical gap between adjacent rules that doesn't go away. This looks like IE6 is incorrectly setting the margin to some arbitrary value. Does anyone know if this is a known bug at MS? If you know of one, post the...

I have had great success with using <iframe> with overflow-y set to auto. I can get a similar look with the <iframe> tag. BUT... In all cases I need to have fixed heights. Is there a way to put either tag inside an HTML <TD> and have the same kind of scrolling effect. This would allow me to fill the screen and have the size of the scrolling box change on resize. Thanks in advance.

Hi! I have created page which contains some menu buttons and <iframe> with sub-page. Each menu action on the master web site should change content of iframe (by changing src attribute). But how to detect when user has opened subpage not in master's <iframe> ? Is it possible to obtain reference to master's page from sub-page ? When I'm trying to do this using Page.Parent I get null exception :( Here's a piece of code //master.aspx

1. Horizontal centering a <divin browser window. The current trend seems to be to place page content in a fixed width area in the middle of the browser window. How is this achieved? If I use a top level <divthen I can place it with CSS attribute 'left:', but this is a fixed offset. Is it possible to have a <divcentered in the browser window? 2. Verticle centering in <div>

According to this <http://css-discuss.incutio.com/?page=BoxModelHack> IE6 will display differently to the W3C standard. Only IE6/strict and I suppose IE 7 display correctly. IE 6 transitional and frameset are wrong. My users are still using IE 6 and I have a frameset in most of my pages - this is just a one line tickertape thing but it has to stay there. The guy who wrote the site made some errors here (specifying xml strict but...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
