Problem clicking buttons

Hi,
Not sure if I am posting to the proper group. I have some buttons on an
HTML form. When I click a button, it just gives the button focus. Then I
need to click again for the onClick actions to take place. How do I get
the buttons to work on the fist clck, rather two click or double click. I
have set tab order and have used xxx.focus() to give the first field on
the form focus after the form loads. Can this be screwing the buttons up.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Hi, I have noticed problems with the CToolBar class when using a manifest file in VC++ 2003. To test my theory I created an empty MFC MDI project with the manifest file so I get the WinXP style controls. When running the project I found the following, after-which, single-clicks on buttons cause the button to stay down and attempting to move the toolbar causes an exception error: Hold Ctrl+Alt keys down. Right-click on an enabled...

Hi everyone, I have run into a quandry here. Here is a simplified scenario that mirrors my real problem. I have a page that has 2 buttons: On page load, the page runs some complex initialization routines. Clicking button 1 causes a postback in which I WANT the initialization routines to run before the event handler. The net of this is that the same page redisplays slightly differently. Clicking button 2 causes a postback in which I...

Hi, I have created a very simple ASP.NET application which has a couple of ImageButtons which go to different SQL reports on clicking them. I have used Response.Redirect to send the user to the SQL reports. Now after viewing the report when I hit the Baxk Button on my browser. and then I click the image buttons, nothing happens. Any ideas why this is happening?

Hi I am having a problem with session vars being propagated between pages on this site: http://www.meettheancestors.com/sessiontest/index.php If you enter any user id and password and click Log In (no actual validation is performed), and then move around the other pages and/or keep refreshing the pages it will eventually display something that is incorrect i.e. saying your logged in when you aren't or vice versa. The exact same code...

Hi, There is a label and a textbox. There are two buttons: one HTML (buttonA), the other ASP.NET (ButtonB). Clicking on buttonA starts a javascript function, starting on ButtonB triggers nothing but of course generates a postback. Now my problem. When clicking on buttonA, the text of the textbox and of the label are modified by javascript, as expected.

hello, Rather than going on a wild explanation on what's the the problem, it'll be much quicker and easier if i let you look at it yourself, so I'll post my page source (actual contents taken out, of course). <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Language" content="en-us" />

Hi, I've already posted an email with this problem, but this time I think I got a bit more info. The app I'm currently working on works like this: when user clicks on a clickable element, it handles its onclick event and sets values of input fields in hidden form according to event data etc. The form is submitted, on the server side there's some javascript generated that is injected into a hidden frame (the same where the hidden form...

I'm having some problems on IE with a small editor I'm building. The source of the problem is the following: Consider having an iFrame with designMode="on" in which you select some text. When clicking anywhere in the page (outside de iframe), the iFrame looses focus and selection. However, this doesn't happen for images. When clicking on images the iFrame keeps its focus. So, all my toolbar buttons (Bold, Italic, OL, UL... s.o.) that have...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
