Repeating a tiling image in a table cell

I have an image which I want to tile in a table cell. The table cell should
expand to fill "the rest of the width" available. This works in Mozilla:

<td width="100%" background="ima ges/topbar_05.gif"> &nbsp;</td>

But the background attribute isn't actually valid in the td tag. For that
reason Konqueror doesn't support it, and that's one of the browsers I must
have.

Is there an alternative way?

is there only one column in your table? Is it tabular data?

I don't know Konqueror, so I don't know what specifically will work in
that browser.
Is there an alternative way?

Presentation is best done separately, via stylesheets.

HTML validators say that "background" is not a valid attribute for a <td> tag I want to set an image as the background for one cell only, and to have the cell content on top of it. If I can't use <td background="img src=.."></td>, what is the correct method? Some modern templates do it all with CSS, but that is getting a bit too deep for my inexperience.

Hello all, I need somehelp with background tiling. I've come a long way since I first created the site many moons ago and I'm trying to convert it to a (1) Table-less, (2) Frame-less and (3) Validated...

I have a very simple database containing one table called "tblProducts". The fields are: ProductID, Description, Price. I have a folder on my PC that contains image files. The image file names are based on the associated ProductID, i.e. 2001.jpg is a picture of ProductID 2001. I know how automate Word mailmerge using VBA in access, but I want to include the related pictures in the merged document. So the word doc will have a table in...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
