clip property and position property with valule other than static and absolute

64 New Member
Hi,

I quoted this statement from w3schools site in http://www.w3schools.c om/css/pr_pos_clip.asp , that state:"What happens if an image is larger than its containing element? - The clip property lets you specify the dimensions of an absolutely positioned element that should be visible, and the element is clipped into this shape, and displayed."

is clip property for absolutely positioned elements merely?
for example it dont work correctly with relatively positioned elements?

in advance, thanks.

the W3C is a bit more clear about that:
The clip property applies only to absolutely positioned elements. (ref.)

PS. I advice to change your reference material, w3schools is not that good.

I am just starting to use properties, and wonder what you might think of this ... class RNumber(object): def __init__(self, n, nmin, nmax): self.nmin = nmin self.nmax = nmax self.n = n

I would know what "criteria" is used in box positioning with the position property. Here my tries (using IE and Opera): I have a box with an absolute positioning (properties used: position, left and top). I noted that if the reference of this box is the "html" box or the "body" box, the browser uses the following rules:

I have an A97 form opened in design view: frmAuthEntityEditingForm bound to tblAuth In the open property sheet on the Data tab, the 2nd item down in the list is the filter property. In it, I have typed the following: AuthID=GetCurrentAuthEntity() But still, all the records in tblAuth display in the form rather than the SINGLE record that I want.

It seems like getter is defined in such way that it passes only 'self': class FunDict(dict): def __init__(self): self.fundict = dict() def fget(self, fun): return fundict

Hi! I'm attempting to display a <div> element on top of my page's content so that the user cannot interact with it while being prompted to answer a question. I have set this <div> to have a position:fixed style (have also tried position:absolute as well). On my page I have a button with a style of "top:50%; position:relative;" and this button is appearing on top of the <div> element that is supposed to be preventing user interaction. I...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
