Why does the text flow out of it DIV

3 New Member
Very simple question...

As you can see the whole text flows out of its div
or container (the white box)

what code in CSS can use to stop this

Parent elements are never to expand to contain floated elements. To do what you want, add 'overflow:auto' to the parent div.

You spell 'section' wrong for one of the elements and you have both a min-height and a height of only 6px specified. Remove the height.

ok thanx, I fixed the misspelling and removed the 6px

But didn´t change...

But when I removed the <section> than the text wrapped inside of the container

but than I dont have my padding settings

... and this will be the left-column and on the right-side another column will appear

I´ve done this before so I don´t get what is wrong

Hello all. I have been given mock-ups (in static HTML) of some pages for a site I am working on. The client would like these pages to look exactly as they do now. The problem is that the content is dynamic, it comes from a database. My question -- with CSS (because with HTML tables I don't think it's possible) how can I make my text "flow" in two columns? eg. If there are 100 lines of content, I would like 50 to be in the 1st column, and...

Ever since I upgraded my Windows display to 120 DPI (kind of a necessary change), fonts have been clearer and graphics have been crisper. However, the 25% automatic increase in the text size on my web site has thrown it all askew. Combining my monitor's native resolution of 1280x1024 and the XP setting of 120 DPI, everything else is great, but now standard Serif on my web site looks like I'm reading a Dr. Seuss book. Obviously,...

I'm trying to compose a list of items, each of which consists of text that wraps around a picture at the left margin. The examples I have seen tell me to do it like this: <p><img src="xxxx.jpg" align="left" width=nn height=nn>zzz zzzzz zz zzzzz...</p> In my case, since the wrapped text includes a headline, I assume I am supposed to do this:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
