I've read in a couple of different places including the archives of this
forum that html doesn't allow you to precisely dictate the position of an
image, but I found this command (again in the archives of this forum) that
apparently allows you to do exactly that.
<img src="whateveryourfilelocationis" style="position:absolute; left:Xpx;
top:Xpx">
What do you call this command? The responder of the particular message where
I found it...

Hello
I'm trying to make some tooltips which are position:fixed. It works fine in
Opera and Safari/Konqueror, but in Firefox and Camino (ie Mozilla), it takes
a few seconds for each tooltip to display, and then to get hidden. If I use
position:absolute, the problem goes away, but the tooltips move around with
the containing, scrolling div.
..scroll { height: 400px; overflow: auto; }

I'm having a heck of a time, and I'm hoping someone can take a quick
look and see if they can recognize what might be the problem and point
me the right direction.
My blog page: http://www.celticbear.com/weblog/ looks fine in Firefox
and Opera, but in IE6, the main body block positions itself below the
left menu bar.
I've W3C validated the XML Schema, HTML, and CSS and fixed a couple of
errors and all three now give me a "valid"...

hello , I have an issue positionating some pics I want to anchor to an existing table cell but I cant just place regular position on the cell because the background is fixed height and the set of pics is bigger then fixed space. SO I put them in a position:absolute div and I gave a position:relative to the container td.
This seems to work in IE but in Firefox position is relative to the browser window, not the cell. I need a compatible solution...

Hi,
I do not know where should I start to solve this problem.
I have a calendar inside a div on my webpage which will show /hide when
user click a button. but the button is almost at the bottom of my
webpage, I am using position :absolute for the div so everytime when
the div shows, it will "drop down" cause the vertical scroll bar
appears on web browser and the user have to scroll down to see the
whole calendar. I was trying to...

Hi,
I am currently trying to do some Javascript sizing and positioning using
Javascript and encounter some for me unexpected behaviour in IE6, yet
works fine in Firefox and Opera.
I have a table with some various elements in it and want it to take into
account the current browser viewport size and resize it relative to that.
The calculations seem to be working well, but when I assign a height to

Hi to All,
I am new to html authoring, so sorry if my terminology is not correct or
exact.
I would like to position a footer div to the bottom of the browser window.
As I research in the web shows this could be done a containing element with
"min-height: 100%;" and an absolute positioned element (div) inside, aligned
to bottom ("position: absolute; bottom:0px")

I have no perfect cross-browser solution to position html element on
the bottom of the page.
I know that with Firefox I do it as:
position:fixed; bottom:0px;
However, IE does not understand that. Did anyone come across this
issue to share with me?
Thanks you

While there are several web sites that make use of sidebars, there are
relatively few that make use of fixed position sidebars. While fixed
position sidebars offer the advantage of having the page controls and
hyperlinks always visible when the user scrolls down a page, they have
one great disadvantage: a portion of the fixed position sidebar may not
be visible for some users because of a combination of small vertical
height and the...

How can I accomplish that?
Thanks in advance for all the help.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
