Extreme Newbie: How to replace an image slice with text?

1 New Member
Hello,

I'm trying to create a simple html page. I created it in photoshop, sliced and linked all the images. I was wondering if there was a way to delete one of the slices and place txt inside that 'space' without having to use CSS. I tried deleted it and placing the text inside the box but than it messes up the rest of the slices and the page looks distorted. Can anybody please help me?

Best,
OmiE

The answer you're going to get from literally everyone here is that your approach is out-dated and that using slices is highly inadvisable, for just the reason you just explained. One tiny slip and the whole house of cards comes tumbling down. It would save you many, many hours of future headaches to learn some basic HTML and CSS and to work from there.

You are supposed to simple upload the photos and copy and past the table codes taht was generated from the HTML PS creates. When I launche the created html file everything looks good, but when I put the table code into VS...there are spaces between the images were the slice was at, the image is broken up and you can see the idfferant images which is the...

As I understand it, the use of FIR* to replace heading tags with images in visually enabled CSS browsers is now frowned upon on the basis that some screen readers will *nor* read back text that is marked up by CSS to be invisible or hidden. So... If I want to replace headings with images (because my client wants to use his specific font for headings where possible), what's the best way to do it?

Cascading Style Sheet is an extreme hazard to your privacy. It allows others on the internet to see your monitor and files. It allows them to copy images on your monitor to their computers. It also allows them to copy files from your computer to their's. It is dangerous. Avoid at all costs. CSS that isn't stored in the victim's computer. Instead it is stored in the perpetrator's PC. What it does is it reads everything on the victim's...

Hi all - Sorry to plague you with another newbie question from a lurker. Hopefully, this will be simple. I have a list full of RGB pixel values read from an image. I want to test each RGB band value per pixel, and set it to something else if it meets or falls below a certain threshold - i.e., a Red value of 0 would be changed to 50. I've built my list by using a Python Image Library statement akin to the following:

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
