Hi,
I am trying to change the background of table TD's. The problem is that
I have no access to the HTML code. SO I am trying to alter this using
Javascript/DOM in an external .js file.
I have tried lot's of things and spent hours on this, I thought I might
give it a try here. One of the TD's uses HTML to set the background,
the other one uses CSS styling:

I have a website that I am working on the layout....
www.sngao.com/Joomla
I tried to use a table with four rows,
* 1st row - banner
* 2nd row - also banner image
* 3nd row - has three cells, one left frame image that stretched to full length of the table, one content cell, and one on the right side has a nested table with 5 navigation buttons and some images for spacing and **i made a background image for the listing titles...

I want to stretch the image so that it fills the entire cell width and
height. How do I do that?
<TD background="bg.gif" width="100%" height="100%"
style="background-repeat: no-repeat;">
So far I have done that but it doesn't seem to work. I think the height
and width get applied to the cell instead of the image. Is there a way
around this?

I'm missing something regarding positioning background images. It's probably
obvious, and I hope someone here will note it for me. I'm trying to do
something like the complex spiral thing, only much simpler. According to the
O'Reilly CSS definitive guide book, it should work, but it isn't. On
http://www.xmission.com/~wake/backgroundtest.html I have a background image
showing through, but not showing up in the header areas. It is my...

Hello,
I'm sure this has come up before. I have need for a collection of all
elements/objects in an HTML document that have any kind of an
attribute (HTML or CSS) that is making use of a URL to display an
image. document.images only seems to reference image tags. The
collection needs to include background images, input type = image,
image maps, css assigned background, etc. Honestly, I am probably not
aware of all the possibilities...

I have searched for "vertical stretch, align, etc." and have tried (and failed) with all of the solutions to stretch the "#nav vertical" div so that it streches to the height of the page. As you can see I simply set it to "height:800px;" - which looks bad on really short pages (http://www.coloradopedia.com/~newports/HoursOfOperation.html ) or really long ones (http://www.coloradopedia.com/~newports/BoardOfDirectors.html
Please help - on...

If in my CSS I set the "background-color" property on the "body"
element, it only covers the background of the elements defined in the
body, up to the current width and height of the page. However, if the
current component set has a resulting small height, this leaves most
of the page with the original background color (white).
However, if I set the property on the "html" element instead, it does
color the entire visible page, beyond the...

Hi all,
I posted an earlier question to the microsoft.public.inetserver.asp.general
newsgroup asking how to set the background of a client-side table cell to a
gradient, and I received this answer:
How do I stretch the static image? The Style property builder for a table
cell lets me specify the background image location, tiling, scrolling, and
position. But I can't find any obvious way to tell it to stretch the image

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
