CSS: Multiple centered images

2 New Member
hey there,

I am seeking some help in relation to centering multiple images with inline content, I have read the thread (http://bytes.com/forum/thread99970.html) and I tried the method described on the WC3 page found (http://www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/center.html). I used the following method

I
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. MG.displayed {
  2.     display: block;
  3.     margin-left: auto;
  4.     margin-right: auto }
...

Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <IMG class="displayed" src="..." alt="...">
my question is, is it possible using CSS to make multiple images line up horizontally? of course when I use the above method it wont display multiple images in line with each other, will only show the one above the other.

any help is appreciated.

Hello Everyone, The problem of browser resizing has become an issue for me. While redesigning my webpage, I set the left and right margins to be auto so that my content would be centered. However, there are images that I used absolute positioning in order to place them in the appropriate location on my page. When I do a browser resize, these images do not move (obviously). However, the rest of my content is auto centered as...

Hi -- I'm trying to figure out how to make a photo thumbnail gallery page using CSS and no tables that (1) has a caption below each image and (2) is centered -- so that as browser width changes the images consistently reconstitute themselves as centered rows with the maximum number of images on each row. I've made a test page at http://www.americanstate.org/test/gal01/ that illustrates what I'm aiming for and how close I've gotten. I've...

Hello Everyone, I am in the process of redesigning my web page and I ran into a problem while using CSS. I have laid out my web page with auto margins so that the content is centered. I assume that this will enable the content to be centered in any resolution which the viewer may be using. I then tried to position some navigation images on my web page (using absolute positioning). When the browser is resized, the images stay in the...

Greetings, I'm attempting to make a simple horizontal navbar with three image links, and with those images replaced on hover and active... and I'm not sure of the proper CSS to do this, though I've tried unsuccessfully. This is the site: www.sunbadgeco.com/sunmetal/index.htm Here's my simple centered navbar with extraneous (alt) coding removed: <div id="navmain">

Hi, I am a newbie to CSS. My problem at this point has to do with layout. I've inherited a website that uses nested tables for the layout of the page (www.gccnh.com), which I would like to slowly change to use CSS. My biggest problem at this point is figuring out how to deal with the multiple images that were used for the background. Most of the table structure uses something like the following although this is a bit simplified, and...

I've been trying to create a new navigation system for my site, and I got everything figured out except for one thing. Here is the CSS code I'm using right now: body { font: normal 10px Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; color: #000000; background: #FFFFFF; height: auto; width: auto; margin: 0px; padding: 0px;

OK, so I know that there has been a lot of discussion on this topic, but none of the answers have been satisfactory. Therefore there seems to be only one thing to do: issue a challenge to all of the CSS gurus of the world to prove that CSS really can do what it claims to do. The challenge seems simple as first blush. We take a simple case of table-based layout: <table align="center" cellpadding="4">

Hello, I want to make a button that automatically resizes according to the text length and the font size (which can be changed in firefox pretty easily with the browser). The button already works for resizing horizontally, the problem is when I enlarge the text using firefox, the text doesnt stay aligned with the button. If the text is larger, the text is not centered vertically in the button.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
