Re: Display/Hide Layers in FF2,3 & IE 6 /7

In article <bb************ *************** *****@4ax.com>,
still just me <wh************ **@yahoo.comwro te:
I'm would like to display (or not) text on a page in result to user
clicks. The general idea is that there will be a list of items,
clicking on a "+" next to an item expands (displays the layer) some
detail text beside it. Clicking again collapses it (hides layer).

I have a lot of JS, CSS formatting, and some DOM experience related to
XML, but little application of it to CSS layers. I need some samples
as well as pointers to some of the caveats of doing this. I'd like to
have compatibility for FFox 2 & 3 and IE 6 & 7.

Pointers? Samples? Comments on the general concept?
Here's a site that appears to do what you are suggesting:
http://www.weatheroffice.gc.ca/city/..._metric_e.html
(Click on one of the "More Info" items for sticky popup
menus, or the "Show Details" link below the forecast for extended
detail)

I can't speak to the correctness (or otherwise) of the html/css/js,
but it does at least do what you described in FF 2 and 3 (at least)...

Hi everyone, Hoping there are some .js/browser experts out there that can help with this weird problem. I have made a swap div routine and applied the events to menu buttons with a closer layer behind the menus. The closer div has a lower index than the submenu divs so it appears behind them. The closer div contains a transparent gif...

I am a newbie. I am editing someone elses code to make it compatible with Firefox and Safari. In IE, when you click on the proper link, a block of text is shown in a nice paragraph form. But, in FireFox and Safari it appears as a narrow column of text with only 2-3 words per line. Here is the code: function showAll()

Hi y'all, I found the toggle function (shown below) and applied it to a form of mine. It works fine in IE, but in Firefox it appears to fail on the eval lines. I've searched around but I can't seem to find the correct invocation to get the field to appear in Firefox. I've copied below the call and the html of the field itself. Can...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
