I have somebody or some people who are abusing a Perl based .cgi script.
I have written a PHP page which reports this abuse as per
$_SERVER. My intentions were to replace the .cgi script
with this .php script. Problem is these people are coming in with some
web crawler or something like that (i.e. wget
http://myserver.com/thescript.cgi). Now if I replace thescript.cgi with
thescript.php they will not hit it. And if I replace thescript.cgi...

When one is using an HTML form via a web broswer, the user submits the form
contents and these are passed to a CGI Python script on the web server.
I need to write a client script that connects to a web site, runs a Python
CGI script on the web server AND passes a string to the CGI Python script
that the Python CGI script can store/manipulate/evalute etc....
I know how to connect to the web site and run the CGI Python script using a
client...

I have a form with a couple of submit buttons, plus a "pseudolink"
that is also supposed to submit the form; the submitted form data
feeds to a CGI script. The two submit buttons have the name
"go_for_it", so that when the form is submitted, the CGI script
looks for the value of the CGI parameter "go_for_it". I want the
pseudolink to set the value of this CGI parameter prior to submitting
the form, but I can't get it to work. Here's the...

On one of my sites, I have a TCL CGI script that has a security hole
in spite of it having effective server-side validation (the fact that
it's CGI IS its security hole). The front end is a PHP script, and I
am writing server-side validation onto it, however, it is required to
redirect to the TCL CGI script because only a CGI script has the
ability to access a group-accessible XML script on the back end.
I had to take the whole thing...

Python is the 7th most commonly used language, up from 8th.
The only one gaining ground besides VB in the top 10.
We're glad, our app is written in python.
It's free at http://pnk.com and it is a web timesheet for project

I have a cgi-script dat uses the modules cgi, os, sys and time. Offcourse I
can not time the time used to import time, but os and sys do not take more
as a millisecond. My script itself takes 3 or 4 milliseconds. But importing
cgi takes 95 milliseconds. (This is on my test system a PII 300 MHz. Is
there a way to make this more fast? The import off cgi makes the script at
least 20 times as slow. Something like mod-python is not a...

Hi,
I am writing a CGI to serve files to the caller. I was wondering if
there is any way to tell in my CGI if the client browser is still
connected. If it is not, i want to execute some special code before
exiting.
Is there any way to do this? Any help on this is appreciated :)

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
