Getting dotted line around .GIF image used in <A></A> tag

When I have my black backround for Body and my button is a round .GIF
image (actually image has round green button on black backround, whole
thing a rectangle), when I click on the button (hyperlink) a white
dotted line surrounds the rectangular gif with round button image in
the middle. How do I get rid of dotted white line on select of the
hyperlink?

You don't. That is an accessibility aid for keyboard users, so they can
tell where they are as they tab around the page. To remove it would make
it a usability nightmare for those users.

Just because you use a mouse to get around doesn't mean everyone does.

I want to be able to programatically click on the center of an <INPUT type=image ...> element (I only care about IE 5.5+). This should work regardless of whether IE has focus. Normally you would do myDomElement.click and the mouse doesn't matter, but in the case of an input image element, what happens is the submitted url has something like "?x=12&y=7" appended to it (the numbers vary per mouse position on the clicked element). If you hit...

When I click on the image form element <INPUT type=image name=point src="map.png"> point.x and point.y values get submitted to the server specifying where on the image I have clicked. Is there any (simple) way to get ahold of that point.x and point.y BEFORE they are sent to the server (and prevent that from happening)? Ie. I just want the points where someone clicks on an image and not interested in a submission to the server.

Hi, today i found out some browsers (at least Mozilla and IE) support the <image> tag, its usage seems to be the same as for the <img> tag (IMDB.com uses it for example). I did not find anything in the web so far where this tag comes from (ok it's also a bit difficult to search for this, since search engines all seem to ignore < or >), someone knows more about this tag? I found some old reference that this tag at least already existed in...

I have HTML web page with <asp:Image id=img_L runat=server ImageAlign=Top Visible=True Width=y Height=x></asp:Image>. For some images, less than 128K I can view image. Other image files > 128K, image is not viewable - comes up with X in picture box. Is there size restriction. How can I remove this - or how can I show images > 128K in web page. NOTE: x & y in asp:Image spec are distinct values - say 128 x 128 or 64 x 64 image sizes

QUESTION: I have a web page containing a form that contains an image instead of a submit button, e.g. <form name='myform' action='get' method='otherpage.asp'> <input type='image' src='picture.gif' name='myimage' id='myimage'> </form> When forms with image types are submitted, the value is not returned; instead, when the form is submitted, the XY coordinates of the where the user clicked on the image are sent. Hi, I have a query. All html tags start with < and end with >. Suppose i want to display either '<' or '>' or say some text like '<Company>' in html how do i do it? One method is to use &lt, &gt ,&ltCompany&gt to display '<', '>' and '<Company>' respectively. But is there any freeware code available which could implement the above functionality without having to use &gt,&lt and such stuff???

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
