Firefox user chrome question

68 New Member
I have never been able to get the user.css file to work for me at ail, can any one help, I know how to change the web page font through the tools menue, but I would like to change the font size of the address bar to 16 or 20pt.(if this means I have to adjust the addresss bar itself to accomadate the font size change then I would also like to do that as well.
It's been a few months since I have tried to play with the usercontent and other Css files for firefox, but I believe the path is ...\mozilla firefox\chrome\ *.css ( where the * is 1 of the 4 commonly edited css files.
thanks for the help.

Only one of those css files is for users. userChrome.css
On the mozilla site, there is a whole page on how to play with that. Also, look at the example files in the same folder/directory.

btw, even though FF3 is in beta4, Mozilla has said it is now safe for regular users to download and use. The only beta changes being made now are user interface widgets, colors, buttons, etc.

I tried it and it's pretty cool!

Even though there is exampleuser.css and you just omitt "example" from the file name it doesn't seem to work for me, I have cleared the file , and pasted an example that is supose to change the font size but when I save the file, close it, and also close and re-open FF it doesn't seem to work

The filename is actually userChrome-example.css, right?

All of that is commented out so changing the file name won't do anything, but you said you pasted in some example from somewhere. Instead of that, keep the file as userChrome-example.css and create your own userChrome.css. Paste your example file in there, restart, and see what happens.

I came across a very interesting problem recently. Basicly I am building an editor and I want to take advantage of hot keys. I got it working perfectly in Internet Explorer, But I hit problems when I tried in Firefox, stranger still I found Chrome worked fine. The problem is the use of hotkeys that are already used in firefox. In my example I...

Hello, My site prints out URLs in a table. In Chrome and IE8, the URLs look great. In Firefox 3.0.11, the URLs only display up until the second forward slash. So for example, "nytimes.com/pages/world/americas/index.html" is just "nytimes.com/pages" in Firefox. Any ideas why? The code is below. Thanks in advance,

The minimal AJAX script below works in Firefox, but not in IE, Opera, or Chrome. I could use some suggestions or referrals to resources that will help me get the script working in other browsers. Before there are six characters entered in the CAPTCHA code field, the 'Send' button is supposed to be disabled. When there are at least six...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For...
