I have a horizontal navigation bar, which is a single row table containing
the right images. It "stretches" itself across the screen using a
penultimate td like this:
<td width="100%" background="images/nav_bar/nb_spacer.gif"> </td>
which works in all major browsers that I've tried, but doesn't validate. No
background attribute to the td tag, apparently.
What is the correct way to do this? A stylesheet entry with a

HTML validators say that "background" is not a valid attribute for a <td>
tag
I want to set an image as the background for one cell only, and to have the
cell content on top of it. If I can't use <td background="img
src=.."></td>, what is the correct method?
Some modern templates do it all with CSS, but that is getting a bit too deep
for my inexperience.

I am using background-image attribute in a CSS file and linking the
CSS file to aspx page. But strangly, background-image attribute is not
working for relative URL.
e.g. If I apply following css
..navbar-background {
background-image: url(images/menubar.gif);
}
the image is not appearing on the page. It seems that IE is picking

Is there a way to specify a background-image for a html table cell in a
theme's css file. I know a lot of things I can't do... can't figure out one
that I can do:
1) ~/ Images/logo.gif doesn't work since it isn't a server side control.
2) /Images/logo.gif doesn't work, not sure why.
3) Images/logo.gif doesn't work - This can work specify the style of the
td element instead of the CSS class but then it isn't part of the theme.

Hello,
I'm sure this has come up before. I have need for a collection of all
elements/objects in an HTML document that have any kind of an
attribute (HTML or CSS) that is making use of a URL to display an
image. document.images only seems to reference image tags. The
collection needs to include background images, input type = image,
image maps, css assigned background, etc. Honestly, I am probably not
aware of all the possibilities...

I am trying to implement an image map (in this particular case a
country map) with few <area ...>s on it.
The challenge is to add background image (dot) to each <areaso it
will display over the image map.
I am failing miserably at that.
Anybody tried to do that before?
Anybody succeeded?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
