making div tag transperant

Hello to all
I have made a div tag for showing an image. And the div is made transperant by using background-color:transpera nt. But the image that resides in the div tag is not transperant. Is it possible to make the image transperant?
Thanx in advance

Why do you need the div element?

To make the image transparent, look at the css property 'opacity'. This only works in modern browsers, not Internet Explorer, so for that you would need to use their proprietary 'filter' methods which I know nothing about.

Hi, I'm creating a library where several classes are intertwined rather tightly. I'm thinking of making them all use pimpls, so that these circular dependancies can be avoided easily, and I'm thinking of making all these pimpl class declarations public. Reasoning is that since only the code within the ..cc file will need to ever access them, why protect them in ways that would make access to them more difficult and obfuscated? What...

We often find hidden, and totally unnecessary, assumptions being made in code. The following leans heavily on one particular example, which happens to be in C. However similar things can (and do) occur in any language. These assumptions are generally made because of familiarity with the language. As a non-code example, consider the idea that the faulty code is written by blackguards bent on foulling the language. The term...

Hello, Is it possible to have an element on top of the others (z-index) that will be transaprent to events. In my case, I want to have a <canvas> element of top of all the others. (I'm working with FF 1.5) But if I do that, the elements under this one don't receive their events properly.

Consider the classes Base, Derived1 and Derived2. Both Derived1 and Derived2 derive publicly from Base. Given a 'const Base &input' I want to initialize a 'const Derived1 &output'. If the dynamic type of 'input' is Derived1, then 'output' should become a reference to 'input'. Otherwise 'output' should become a reference to the (temporary) result of the member function 'input.to_der1()' which returns a Derived1 object by value.

I asked a long time ago in this group how to make a smart pointer which works with incomplete types. I got this answer (only relevant parts included): //------------------------------------------------------------------ template<typename Data_t> class SmartPointer { Data_t* data; void(*deleterFunc)(Data_t*);

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
